I spent the grand total of $12 which is about £5. Whooo big spender.:D This was for 4 pkts xmas cards, 2 large rolls of wrapping paper, a few new decorations & a calendar. All things that I will need and a fraction of the original price.

But you should have seen how much some people were buying. It was crazy.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • I got a 5mp digital camera and printer dock from Argos for £99.98 (something I've wanted to buy for AGES) and some stuff from the Boots sale for next years' prezzy box for £37.37 (came to £65 before sale discount).

I'm not buying much. I'm past the mentality of mindlessly wandering through town to see which things I might like to buy, when I don't really *need* anything in particular. I might try to get reduced Xmas cards and wrapping paper and also new tree lights in the sales as ours haven't been so good this year. But it makes more sense to keep hold of the money I would otherwise have spent on mindless 'bargains' and put it towards something I really want.

Sounds like the one I got! Is it HP??? I've had to buy an additional SD card tho (got 256mb for £13!) and a black ink cartridge another £14.

  • £14.99. Found the cheapest Leap Pad system as my kids got some of those leappad books off a rellie for xmas but they don't have the actual system to use them with. I was all for going to Woolies & getting vouchers for the books & getting the kids to choose something else but OH insisted on getting the system as its educational...

I have £50 of shopping centre vouchers so I can spend them guilt free as they were a pressie!!!
    MoneyBox savings £30.37 (10/05/06)
    Now at................£54.50(07/06/06)

  • £80 on boots online (Only buy HALF PRICE Items) = £160 worth of goods.
£49 on Argos online (Again only HALF PRICE Items) = £98 worth of goods.

I sit down with a pad & pen, write ALL the people I buy for, for birthdays, easter, mothers day, etc. I then go online to the sales and ONLY buy half price stuff. As I put them into my virtual basket, I write the item & Price next to the persons name. This makes sure I do not over buy for them. Also, I have a limit on what I spend on each person. This limit is the actual cost, not the original, before sale price. That way, they get twice as many pressies for the same money.
I do it every year this way. Doesnt actually save me money, it just means my family, etc get more for their limit and I feel like I have shopped wisely.
I also buy ALL wrapping paper in the sales. There are many shops that reduce all their paper, not just xmas stuff.

    I spent MINUS £29.99 yesterday.

Took back a 'party' shirt to TKMaxx that I wasn't brave enough to wear at our Xmas do last week!

Went round the sales whilst I was out and concluded that all the 'Sales' stuff has been specially bought in this year or is complete cack.

So much for the high street retailers complaining about un-sold stock. Where is it all then???

The worst Sales I've seen IMHO.
