    Hi Crazymess,

It would apply to anyone who had knowledge about PMS's difficulties.

  • Re BBC interview with Lord Mandelson (see post #941)

During this interview Lord Mandelson said he wanted to "listen to what people have to say" and he "needed to know the circumstances, what happened" and said he "will be listening very carefully".

Maybe we should let him know our side of the story!

    He can be emailed at:-

At number 3 click on "lords"

He married hubby and me nearly 25 years ago!
He was a young, kind, decent and honest working man.
I have no reason to think he has changed. (except to get older!)
I am no longer a member of that church and have no savings in PMS but I feel I can say that Rev.Davidson would not knowingly be a party to any wrongdoing.

Does anyone know if the General Board meeting was minuted?

    It would have been, yes.

    A report is here:

    http://www.presbyterianireland.org/news/news2009/news0653.html

I think Resolution number 7 is particularly important for PCI, once the dust settles.

I'm guessing you could always ask Stephen Lynas for a copy of the minutes (email address at the bottom of that report) - I can't imagine any reason why they couldn't send them, given that there are a couple of 'appendages' mentioned in that summary which are not actually appended.

(link edited just in case they put a new lead story up at the original link)

Great D.A., thanks a million for that. Looks a bit wordy to read off my computer screen so I am printing it off to take to bed with me and I plan to Read-Mark-Learn.

    Report item 8
The relief fund appears to have been dropped since the administrator's report came out.
    (Why???)

Possibly because the lawyers might have interpreted it as an admission of liability if the relief fund had continued. They will want to avoid this at all costs.

Seems to me that the following are responsible for all of this:

PCI for promoting PMS in literature, websites, General Assembly etc and benefiting from our savings to build their churches.

DETI for perhaps not having the correct legislation in place to allow PMS to get FSA regulated.

PMS for not using our savings as stated in their rule book.

PCI seem to want to see if Government will bail us out first and then if not may intervene!!!!!!!!!
  • Someone legally astute has to be willing to stick their head above the parapet first!

Meantime, think the administrator works on behalf of savers?

Anyway - anyone know a good Company Lawyer in Belfast - and perhaps its time for CLASS ACTION?

Surely the Company Lawyer will advise us who is responsible for losing our savings!!!
Probably better to wait and see what the members decide with regard to fire sale/wind down. The losses could be lesser/greater depending on that decision. You might be able to find a no win /no fee lawyer once you know the worst

Lets assume its going to be approved to go for the long wind down! I know many people weren't meant to give advice on this - but the word at all of the meetings was to vote for longer term!!!! Again we went to our Church for meetings regarding this and we listened to ???????????? There were no independent financial advisers at them.
