Re The Accounts, My understanding is that the accounts covered the year 1st April 07 til 31st March 08 - completed then audited and passed as accurate by the Directors - even if the situation changed by the time they were printed and posted out the accounts could not be changed as they were accurate at the 31st March 08. Once the Audit is completed they are written in stone.0

Channel 4 are doing programme to be aired on Friday night - journalist in town tomorrow and will be interviewing The Moderator - regarding Government guaranteeing funds.
They want to tell the human side of the story and would like a group of people to go on air to tell their stories - this is a great opportunity for the mainland and Government to hear of our plight.
Folks - I feel we need to do this - we don't want a missed opportunity of getting our funds returned. If we keep quiet any longer maybe people will lose interest.
I have told the journalist I am willing to facilitate this but now need you.
PLEASE PM ME IF INTERESTED AND I KNOW ITS HARD BUT FEEL WE NEED NOW TO OPEN UP.
He is planning to do it with camera interview and won't be live.
With a bit of luck Gordon will be watching Channel 4 on Friday night and will appreciate the current distress of the PMS members who are concerned about their savings.!!! Good luck.0 -

It is possible to have post balance sheet events which allow changes to the figures between the date the balance sheet relates to (31 March 08) and when they are actually signed off by the auditors which is normally at least a couple of months after the balance sheet date. These must be due to conditions which were pre existing at the balance sheet date.
From the feedback it seems the directors were fully compliant with releasing the accounts quickly and if they were posted out in June it was before the credit crunch bit hard so they wouldnt have had any idea what was coming.
My concern was if they had 7 months to release the accounts it could have run into the period when they knew the problems were coming in which case "true and fair"may have been stretching it.0 -
Re Date of Accounts
expat68
My date for receiving the accounts of June/July was a guesstimate along the lines of "sometime last summer"
get2thefacts has obviously got an accurate date of 29th August 2008 for getting the accounts so please ignore my date."Our Society is one of the great successes of our Church"

I was wondering if there was any update on the Channel 4 journalist offering to do an article on the PMS. He wanted to do an interview with a PMS investor on camera. I see his post has been removed pending approval. Thanks.0

Everything seems to have gone very quiet, is nobody posting anymore, its my only means of support through this nightmare0 -
If the C4 journalist does get permission to post I should appreciate it if he would post the name of the programme and time as I have checked listings and there is no specific programme that fits. I have told my parents that I will let them know when it is on as they don't really fancy watching C4's entire Friday evening output, most of which is unsuitable for elderly Presbyterians;) , in the hope of catching a few minutes on the PMU debacle.0
