Martin McGuiness speaking at Stormont on the recent visit to Brussels
We were able to raise some specific issues with President Barroso, including the current economic and fiscal challenges here and across Europe, the potential for a Peace IV programme and IFI funding. We raised the issue of the problems faced by savers and investors in the Presbyterian Mutual Society and alerted him to the possibility of us seeking at a later date Commission agreement on compliance with state aid rules.
I note that advertisments have appeared in the press regarding a consultation process on the Draft Budget 2011-15. (NewsLetter Fri 17 Dec. page67 Public Notices)
The consultation period is due to close on 9 Feb 2011.
I hope those who have assumed the mantle of lobbying on our behalf will make themselves heard.0 -

Current Information
Update from the Administrator 21 December 2010
The Administrator’s progress report for the six months from 17 May 2010 to 16 November 2010 was posted to creditors and members on Friday 17 December. Because of adverse weather conditions and the volume of Christmas mail, it is possible that delivery of the report by post to some recipients might be slightly delayed. The report has now been uploaded to the website and is available there.

Tonight I am thinking of those savers who couldn't afford much heating because their money is tied up in PMS and may suffer burst pipes as a result.
I hope this year coming sees your problems at an end and a return of your savings. Thinking in particular of Belfast gran - I hope you had a good Christmas and that you are not short of water.
Happy New Year0 -
Can anyone give me the e-mail address for James Gregg? I have mislaid (might have binned it) the latest report from Mr Boyd and the PMS website has the address blacked out.
Had a wry smile to myself when I noted the following final paragraph on our Loan Receipt
And in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Society it promises to be accountable.0 -
mr Arthur Boyd, has so far billed the society nearly £1m for his work
