prob the same as they have done up to now...............absoluately nothing.

Trust PCI with your tithes and offereings - I think not, their financial advice has screwed us over.
I'm sure there are more worthwhile causes for your offerings.

    Have enough people not suffered?

Do two rights make a wrong?

Tithes and offerings support charitable work all over the world.

I personally have been donating money to charities and appeals of MY CHOOSING for the last year. Not necessarily Christian based.
I no longer trust the PCI for stewardship of my money.

I have also heard recently that the money we put in the plate each Sunday does not stay within the local congregation, but a large proportion is sent to Church House?
I'm sure there is someone out there who can correct me if this is not the case?
Also is there anyone who can explain precisely what does happen to our tithes and offerings. A bit of transparency would be good.

I would hate to think that people's hard earned cash was swelling the bloated infamous "£43M general investment fund which cannot be touched"!

Your congregation's annual financial report should tell you exactly where all contributions go.

Perhaps the three pronged approach suggested by J McFall, MP is the way forward??

Wish HMG would let us know one way or the other - is help coming or not?? They are bound to know by now.

Surely the Administrator will have to get on with his job. Wonder what PCI will do then?

I have been told that savers/creditors will have a letter from the Administrator around 16 December.
I consider that he is duty bound to furnish us with

1 Full up to date balance sheet and detailed set of accounts.
These must show number of loan repayment and interest payment defaulters and the amount involved.
The number of PMS borrowers from whom PMS has acquired houses and building land in the form of securities for loans as a result of defaulting in their loan repayment. This should include details of sales made by the administrator in relation to these.

2 Details of any arrangement administrator has made with borrowers
    to extend their repayment schedule.

3 A projection over 5 years of what interest and repayment, from
loans given out by PMS, will be coming in.

We as savers/creditors are entitled to this information because the administrator opted not to have a creditors' committee.

Betrayed , I am almost certain that you will get a report in exactly the same format at the mid June 2009 report. This report is due every 6 months from administation and could have been sent anytime from the mid November anniversary but it is always sent as late as legally allowable. In this case sending it just before Christmas will undoubtedly cause more upset than absolutely necessary.

You will get an updated view of value of recoverable assets and the current cash position of the society. I would hope there will be more detail but I fear that any voluntary disclosures will be limited.

I have been told that PMS will feature in BBC 2 Working Lunch tomorrow.
    Friday 11 December.
At least people across the water will be reminded of our plight.

"Failure of moral leadership and accountability"

Interesting words from a recently published report relating to a rather more sinister aspect in another church but perhaps there is a common theme in the leadership of churches around accountability. I have no issue with the many diligent ministers many of whom are caught up in this mess but continue to be frustrated by the lack of ethical principles applied by the hierarchy of the PCI. Churches and their leaders should be expected to act on the highest ethical level and recognise that their obligations go beyond the legal. If anyone knows Dr Carson perhaps they can tell him to read Kohlberg.

Perhaps if PCI took the lead on this the Assembly and Government may follow - seems to be the route John McFall was suggesting.

I went into a church office in Ballymena last week to ask for a Financial Report. (Wanted to see what the minister was paid).
Girl met me outside the office door and when I told her what I wanted she said " This year's annual report is not available yet."
I asked if I could have last year's report.
She said "Sorry all the copies we have left are in the safe and I do not have the key"...................Mission unsuccessful.

A lot of PMS savers who are retired farmers must be relieved to hear what Sammy Wilson DUP and Michelle Gildernew (SF) achieved this week.
HM Treasury agreed to make conacre letting of land 'farming' instead of 'investment'.
A case taken by Inland Revenue re Inheritance Tax in Ballyclare a year ago left
retired farmers letting their land be classed as investors and not farmers even they were still liable for fencing and drainage of their land.
An appeal to the Supreme Court, originally The House of Lords was refused.
This would have meant that when I left my farm to my son on my death he would have to have paid all the funds I have saved in PMS.
Why can Sammy Wilson and Arlene Foster not help us in PMS.
