I am well aware that one lobbying group, whose members I know have worked very hard mainly with getting support in London, became referred to in London as PMS Lobby Group N.I.
Have some us then been wasting our time in highlighting our plight to the media etc. Where were PMS Lobby Group N.I. when the media wanted to speak to them.
Have they a website to share information with us?
Have they a secretary that we can write to?
    Do they just act undercover?
Like BELFASTGRAN I never heard of them in church.
I am suggesting an OFFICIAL Lobbying Group to represent the interests of our members in the crucial days that lie ahead.

Betrayed you know very well that this group has talked to the media. Reference has been on this site unless you did not read it. You may also know that they do not have have a secretary as highlighted also on the forum by one of your posters and work with those in the presbyteries. You will also know that they do not work undercover. Their contact details are on the letters that went out to the savers. There is nothing secret about them. You will also know that persons betrayed their trust on this very site and that is why they do not post here.

If there is nothing more important on this forum than congratulating ourselves for the excellent lobbying work we have all done and while we wait patiently for the results you might have a look at KSF I.O.M. 's Depositor Action Group website. There are similaraties with their plight and ours.

I do not doubt that people on this forum have lobbied, to what extent I do not know. I know many families who sent in excess of 120 letters per household and I know others who sent more.

I have to say I live in Co Antrim and I have substanial savings in the PMS and as a resident there, myself and other co savers have not appointed anyone else to speak on our behalf.

Perhaps you need to bear this in mind before you start making any plans.

Also this was the only organised lobby in NI and indeed in ROI and is recognised as such - thousands of savers are involved.

I am not at all wishing to sound pedantic. I am as keen as you are to have this resolved. I am speaking on my own behalf and no one else. I have read the thread for some time. There is earlier reference on the forum to the petition and the lobby letter. There was nothing ad hoc about how the letter was distributed. If individual congregations did not highlight it, as previously pointed out on the forum all you had to do was ask. In any event there is no point in dwelling on it.

I am not talking here about who achieved what nor am I interested. I am sure those savers in the lobby group feel the same. We all have one objective and that is to get our savings back. There are very many people involved with the PMS that continue working tirelessly behind the scenes. The politicans and the working group are the ones who are going to resolve this not the savers.

    Anyway I wish you luck.

HOPE you are probably right about the politicians and working group, however without ALL the input of the savers todate, I doubt the politicans would have even been aware of the plight of the savers, and for sure the working group would not have been formed.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank :-

    BALLYBLACK for starting this thread.

TS Callaghan for starting the petition.

Ian and Isobel (referred to in London as PMS Lobby Group N.I) for the tireless work they did behind the scenes - In my opinion, for 2 people to attempt to advise/inform/council and support potentially 10,000 people, I think they did a great job...

Those ministers who actively promoted any information they received from the above group, to those in their congregations.

Philip Bradfield at the Newsletter for all his his help todate keeping the PMS story in the news.

Those who attended the peaceful and dignified 'public awareness' rally on the opening night of the General Assembley.

All the politicians and MP's who have offered their support and continue to do what they can on behalf of the savers.

Everyone who has contributed any positive, constructive and helpful comments and information on this forum.

I have no doubt that the lobby group has done a lot of good work, but as for me i have heard no mention of any sort of lobby group apart from what was said on this site.

To me the group seems a bit like the ****** as a certain few seem to be in it and personally speaking, others are not felt particularly welcome. However i hope they keep up their work.

I know i would love to meet with others in the same position as myself and discuss whats going on :-(

Here is a very interesting press release from the above website.
FSC are using the "investor" tag as well - seems they don't have a lot of imagination?

I say hear, hear to the above, but for me the contribution of JLTS on this thread has kept us old pair up to date and almost sane. Thank YOU Joy.
