There seems to have been a regular back page advert in the Presbyterian Herald.
The latest promotional leaflet I have dates from 2008.
There was a link from PCI Board of Mission website until 18th Nov 08.
Rev Davidson mentioned posters in the foyer of his church.
Was PMS advertised in any other way?
OR WAS IT ALL DONE THROUGH THE CHURCH!!
All the above plus word of mouth is my recollection. :shocked:0 -

Just a pedantic point here - from the minutes of the Assembly:That the General Assembly note with the greatest concern the disproportionately large cut (22%) made in Irish Aid funding in the recent budgetary adjustment in the Republic of Ireland
Some may have taken from joy's post that the Irish government makes a contribution to PCI's Overseas work - they don't. The resolution at the Assembly was referring to the cut in the RoI government's aid budget.
I realise this has nothing to do with the PMS, but it's just to avoid any misunderstanding.
Carry on. ;-)0 -

- Why are we waiting on the whim of an arrogant Secretary of State to decide to “break through the bureaucracy” Is there no natural recourse for justice from a financial institution which was acting outside of its remit?
- Why will none of the Directors tell us who made the decision to lend money to property developers?
- Why haven’t the many documented instances of “false assurances” by the PMS Secretary been followed up. He is on record on 14th November of saying that the money was safe, and lent to congregations and churches. When is clearly wasn’t.
- Why will none of the Directors admit to being on the loans committee?
- Why did no-one tell the savers the lending policy had changed.
- Why are we now being told we were “investors – investing risk capital” when no-one told us, and there was nothing in the small print to make this clear?
- Why will the church not admit that it endorsed a financial institution that was acting outside of its remit?
- Why were we not allowed to speak at the General Assembly
- Why was there no time given for suggestions for practical solutions at the General Assembly.
WHY WILL NO –ONE SAY SORRY!!Church sources claim there is a general investment fund worth £43m and an estimated £20m in other reserves. The church has other assets — a site in Lucan, near Dublin, is valued at between £4m and £6m." The Sunday TimesDecember 28, 2008 Liam Clarke0 -
- Since when is it fitting for the Clerk of the Assembly to use sarcasm publicly "in the House" against the Prime Minister?
- Since when is it fitting for the Clerk of the Assembly to question the “Presbyterian conscience” of the Prime Minister?

I have a lot of time for Rev John Dunlop; his involvement in the PMS saga both publicly and privately is very encouraging. :T0 -

A very well-worded and well thought out piece NoMoreFWO; any chance you could submit this to the Newsletter or the Belfast Telegraph for publication so that it can be seen by more than just us on the MSE site??0 -
The PMS advertised in the Herald and in Newsletter - Sat edition farming section. I have all the annual reports since the Society started and believe that most of the increases year on year were more by way of word of mouth, than any particular advertising campaign - increases look typical of one tells two, two tell four, four tell eight. Same way our Lord intended us to spread the Gospel, the figures just climb and climb.0

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/ni/2009/06/presbyterians_cry_out_to_gordo_3.html
"The Rev Derek McKelvey, who was runner-up in this year's moderatorial election, gave an impassioned speech, which earned rousing applause, reminding the Assembly that the Bible explicitly prohibited Christians from suing each other in the civil courts. That speech may have secured him the job next year, but it may not have dealt with the issues facing some savers. Surely, if the church and the Society are 'legally separate', a law suit relating to the Society would not in fact be a law suit relating to the church."

I have copies :
And take a look at Gillygooley News Bulletin - I can post a copy here if you like:
Church Newsletter promoting the PMS!!!!!!
I agree with word of mouth - but then one referred to the advertising.
Most advertising was done in-house or I meant in-Church - where this should be sorted out too!0
