It was frozen in winter and sour in the summer which I hated despite loving milk.

I've always hated drinking milk anyway. My mother has a very mild allergy, which translated into a more serious allergy in all 4 of us as babies. She had to be on a milk-free diet when feeding babies, so there was never much milk around at home.

If I don't fancy a glass of wine with dinner I'll have a glass of cold milk instead.

Mrs Generali and I even ran a blind tasting of milks to see which was best. Duchy's Original won. Unpasturised probably would have if it'd been in the taste test but we didn't have any.

  • Annual Chinese cigarette consumption grew from 100 billion in the early 1950s to 500 billion in 1980 and is now 1,800 billion. One in three of all the cigarettes smoked in the world today are smoked in China.
At present, two-thirds of Chinese men (but only 1% of the women) become smokers before the age of 25.

So the Man on the Shanghi Omnibus smokes about 1700 fags a year/5 a day. Assuming that Granny MSO and the MSOinis smoke too.

    Chinese Govt stats are rubbish.
