...but running costs on those old beasts will be the same again, in fuel and parts! Good idea though

but at least you can do all the work yourself.. which makes it an education as well as transport! My 2.0 Cortina Mk 5 has cost me (inc purchase, parts etc but not inc fuel, ins, and tax) £850 over 6 years.... does about 40 mpg on a trip and about 25 round town, costs £45 fully comp per year, and apart from a broken cam belt the day I bought it, has had no major probs.... its a bargain in anyone's money!0
