 ?
• Depends if your email address is a Tesco one. If so, you won't be able to keep it.

We registered our family name as a web site (which we don't use at present) and that also gives us our own email address and we each have our own email - fred@bloggs.co.uk, mary@bloggs.co.uk. Then each time we change our provider, we keep the same address.

If you want to do this, you just need to find an address that no one has already registered - we're lucky that our surname is unusual, so that was an obvious choice. Then you register it through a hosting company - we pay about £5 for two years and it is renewable.

We've just changed from Pipex to Talktalk (as they seem to be the cheapest, although Tiscali is also good value). Through the magic of technology and some help from the techies board on MSE, we've kept the same address.

Have you tried to see if you are in an o2 covered area - they do broadband with unlimited usage for £7.50 for o2 customers, even PAYG.

Your fault for using ISP provided e-mail account when there are plenty of better alternatives to choose from! Don't make this mistake next time.

Not sure what type of email you have but if its pop type account you should still be able to receive the mail.

As an example, I was with BT Internet and moved to o2. I use Outlook to receive any mail going to the BT account and obviously inform people of the new o2 address. I can still access the BT mail account via the web if I want to.
Waddle you do eh?
• are you sure you will lose your tesco email address if you stop paying for there broadband? With some suppliers if you stop the broadband you can change your account to dial up where you pay nothing unless you dial in but you can still access your email through another broadband supplier free.

• Get yourself a google email address and keep it no matter how many times you change your ISP.
• Yeah a web based email provider is best, that way you are free to change providers anytime. Also all is not lost, you might be able to set up forwarding on the Tesco address so it forwards all mail to your new Gmail address. Also Gmail itself can send and receive mail from other accounts, although an email client, such as Thunderbird, would be better.
