Taking Ryanair to court?

Thanks for the info shona99. Your interpretation of the regulations seems to be the same as mine.
For those of you who seem to think that Ryanair wouldn't just leave you somewhere with no re-routing then even their website indicates they may do this. - "If a Ryanair flight is cancelled and no suitable alternative flight is available, or you have advised Ryanair about your decision not to continue your journey; we will process a refund of all monies paid in respect of the unused flight sectors on your reservation back to the form of payment used to pay for the original booking.". They dont have an office to complain at in Marakech either.0 -
will the amount not be covered by travel insurance? might be a quicker/easier way of getting the money back rather than court action against an airline....:happyhear0

Confused? Nope, not me! OP wrote that the next days flight was full. Good enough for me. If a plane holds, lets say 150. 150 turn up for the flight and the 150 from yesterday and they all want a seat. Umm, a problem.
ps, I happen to be a happy Ryanair flyer. Fly twice a year and never had a problem. OP did and is not happy and wants blood/compensation and fair play to him
no norman the OP did not say the next days flight was full , it was a vague statement along the lines that all flights were full and seats were expensive on them till the middle of the week which does not make sense!!
the reason for the confusion is that speedybee did not see anyone from ryanair the next day, did not ask for help on that day when a ryanair flight was leaving, ryanair couldnt have helped her if they had wanted to
because the atlas blue flight left at 7.30 am on the friday morning long before the ryanair check in desk was open fro the 10.00 am flight
thats what i mean about large chunks of facts left out of the story and speedybee reluctance to explain what happened on the friday to all those who were abandoned and what ryanair offered to do, how many were put on the friday flight and were happy with ryanair
the OP had no idea, didnt wait for help, and left the country by her own means.
how you can take ryanair to court over a cancelled flight because of the weather is beyond me, especially as you never hung around long enough for ryanair to do anything about it!!
the familiar story is on cancelled flights that they put you on the next availble flight if you bother to turn up and try and get on it0 -

OK OK, I submit! I'm on the ropes and being hit with left hooks, right uppercuts and to end it all, a forearm smash!
I bow to your superior knowledge and full knowledge of the facts and that you were standing next to the OP at the departure gate.
I must have been dreaming when I read the following;
No, there was really no possability of flying out the next day with ryanair. All flights full to the middle of the next week and0 -

I see what you are saying, but i read it the same as some others. Allflights were full untill middle of next week and then after that they were to expensive. Unless the Op clarifies it we will never know will we..no ppoint fighting over it....IS THERE ?0 -
ynot makes me laugh. I like people that jump in with both feet, especially when they end up in their own mouth :TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

thanks photome, i thought it was only me who could see the statement made no sense at all
and for norman who still cannot see the the blindingly obvious why speedybee says there was no real possibility of flying with ryanair the next day
IT IS BECAUSE SHE BOOKED ANOTHER FLIGHT WHICH LEFT HOURS BEFORE THE RYANAIR ONE DID ON THE FRIDAY, SHE HAS NO IDEA WHAT RYANAIR COULD HAVE DONE FOR HER, SHE SAW NO STAFF, NO PASSENGERS AND IT WAS ALL QUIET AT 5AM IN THE MORNING for the 7am flight with atlas blue
the flights are full and expensive muddling statement is guesswork on her part that high prices when she looked on the internet meant they were looking like almost full flights
i reckon even stoneman can work that one out for himself, and the big clue was my repeated questions about the facts which speedybee ignored and wouldnt answer.
the story isnt so sexy when he/she b-ug-g-e-r-e-d off on her own and didnt even try and get back with ryanair the next day
thats what happens with ryanair, they do a runner on the day and then tell people to make their own way back or turn up the next day and try and sort it out.
what did she expect a mercy flight from ryanair on the thursday and ignore the weather, no im afraid airline saftey comes before inconvienience
blogs and court cases, dont encourage it please folks0 -
I haven't read the whole thread, but from what I have read the whole story does not appear to have been given.
A few points (that may have been answered in bits I have skipped!):
Did you not have insurance?
Ryanair do have representatives at RAK, albeit service agents and not Ryanair employees (which is the case at many airports).
I have to dispute that there was no availability on flights for the next week. I had an argument with my nice little younger man on the following Friday night, and looked at running off to RAK for a few days (avoidance - not a good tactic in making a relationship work!), and in the early hours of Sat morning there was definitely still availability on the Sunday morning flight.
I'm not saying that the OP did not feel deserted, but if they do plan to take this to court, they need to give the full facts, and not a version that puts their story in the best light.Gone ... or have I?0 -

I gave up ages ago! Carry on if you wish but without me. You know better, so please have the last word. Come on, I know you want to
