RyanAir

Hey,

I am flying with ryan air soon and was ust wondering is there anything we should be looking out for? I have paid the baggage and checking in fees (is this something we used to get for nothing?) Bit worried about this one!

And I did not book the flights my cheapass g/f did.

As you can guess I ain't happy about flying with them.I normally use BMI or easyjet who are fine.

Best idea is to use the search option and read some of the other threads on Ryanair. They cover pretty much anything you would ever want to ask - and a lot that you should have asked

At this stage, your main concern should be to ensure that the airport where your flight lands is at least in the country that you want to visit.

That did not actually occur to me till there now!

easyjet and ryanair are just about identical, your cheapass girlfriend hopefully has saved you money.

frequent flyers with ryanair (me) will tell you there is nothing to be concerned about, those that will never fly ryanair find plenty to worry about.

the coffee onboard easyjet is £2 for a small cup, £2.50 for a big coffee ryanair, they both sell scratchcards, both have free seating which means you get a bit of push and shove.

airbus seems a bit nicer to me with easyjet than a boeing, its all very samey the whole shebang
  • I really wouldn't worry, as it is actually booking the flights that seems to cause more complaints on here than the flights themselves.

Ryanair is my first choice for flights at the moment, many many Ryanair flights (I think forty-ish this year alone), and only one delay, as opposed to 6 flights with Easyjet, and 6 delays, (though admittedly some were only half hour delays, but delays never the less).

Ryanair are not perfect, but nowhere near as bad as they are made out to be on here!!

    Enjoy your trip.
  • I fly both Ryanair and Easyjet and so far have only one complaint and that seems to be relevant to the airport you depart from, Gatwick is a free for all rugby scrum when it comes to boarding, whereas stanstead there are two orderly queues, priority first then everyone else.

I've flown with both Ryanair & Easyjet, more than a few times in the last couple of yrs.Never had a problem.I think people go looking for problems. The flights are dirt cheap,so what more do you want.If you want a bit of luxury, pay a loy more and go with other airlines.

We are regular Ryanair flyers too, and have had no problems with them. We travel with cabin baggage, check in online and use an Electron card [strike]because we are tightwads[/strike] to get the best possible prices.

Priority boarding is a waste of money, especially at airports using bus transfer. But if you like the legroom seats you can normally get them without too much problem. There is a plan we use that seems to work for us. Most of their planes are boarded by steps so front and rear entrances are available.

As you approach the plane, one of your party should head to the rear steps. Most people seem to want Row 1, so there is congestion as they stow their baggage. The best seats are the 2 rows in the middle, so by boarding at the rear you avoid this and get these seats with no hassle. Works every time!;)

mr smartprice i used to think the emergency exit seat were the best, but they are not as wide and you always will get some longshanks sitting next to you with long arms that dig into you, and you are last of the plane if both doors open on landing.

i prefer the front, first off the plane, and near the blocked off rows, the only snag is babies, mothers like to be near the toilet and if one baby can hear another one they scream for hours at each other.

i agree ince mon, problems are rare and booking problems (bags and debit cards) somehow get linked to a rip off service that is dodgy too, and that certainly is not the case as regulars know only to well
