    Hello :)

Thanks again, I couldn't get an appointment until dinnertime today, I called NHS Direct this morning as I really was feeling quite whoozy and faint and they put me through to a nurse - she told me to rest and get lots of liquids (and mentioned PCOS which was scary) and to get to the GP that day - or A&E if I couldn't. I told her I had the appointment and she was happier after that and we went a little while after.

Doctor has given me some tablets to take four times a day for 2 weeks [500mg! :|] to stop the bleeding and a telling off for not getting there sooner :rotfl: which I know I should do.

I've also rung my tutor and taken the day off :) Thanks everyone!

    Bless you.

I hope you are lying down, feet up, all cosy, watching the TV and feeling alot better.

    Its cr*p being a female... :o

Good to hear you got sorted. I've got an idea of which tablets they'll have given you (I've had a couple of different ones myself) so hopefully that'll make all the difference. Enjoy the day off!

    Thank goodness you're sorted.
As for removing blood, try soaking in milk overnight then wash as usual.
It's something to do with protein removing same, always worked for me.

Couldn't agree more nottslass, Iron defeciency makes us feel so low.
However, this is a student here.

They wouldn't know what cabbage was if it hit them in the eye. Pasta I think being the staple, plus loads of choccie. though not the 70% plus that you may have in mind. (Know what you're snacking on tonight)

When my own lovely girlie whirlie seemed to have the regular anaemia problem. we found this, http://www.spatone.com/ It is a sachet of iron rich water. Metallic tasting but bearable and totally natural from an iron rich well somewhere.

Put in a glass of orange juice apparently enhances the effects and you won't taste it. The good thing is, cannot be overdosed and does not affect the stomach.

hope you are feeling better soon, if you are still having problems washing out blood soak it straight in cold salt water before washing as normal when i gave birth by accident on my white bedding you can imagine the mess anyway that is how my mum/husband got the blood out and it left no trace whatsoever please try it and good luck!!!!take care of yourself xx

Soak anything bloodstained as soon as possible in cold water with biological washing powder. Leave it for an hour or two and then wash on a COLD wash with more biological washing powder. If it comes out still stained don't let it dry - let it soak in more biological powder for 30 mins and then scrube diretcly on the stain with powder - this should near enough take anything out. Back in the wash on a cold cycle.

NEVER wash blood on anything other than cold - if you do you "set" it and it'll be virtually impossible to get it out. Bleaching might help but only as a last resort...

I used to suffer heavy periods every 2 weeks (oh boy was THAT fun...) but changing my pill a few times eventually got me on the right track and sorted my hormones out. Eventually I came off the pill again to start a family and the 2 periods I had were slightly heavy but not to the degree where I was so fatigued I couldn't get off the sofa like last time :)
