  • my trading name and user name are exactly the same, minus some "-" etc

i'm currently a sole trader, and spoke with the tax office a few weeks back about changing name. was surprised how little they needed.

this time around we will probably go Ltd.

Is there a reason for that? My friend and I have the same business but she has so much more work than I as she is Ltd and I am a sole trader. Plus she has to pay more tax as she pays corporation tax whereas I just pay tax on profit after my personal allowance. Also you have to get your end of year accounts audited by an accountant - more money - where as I just self assess. You do not really get anything extra fr being Ltd if you are just a small time company. It is really easy to change if a ST as you say.
  • we have someone who can do our bookkeeping as well. its not what you know...(!)

Yes, it's not bookeeping though, it has to be a chartered account who submits your accounts to companies house at the end of the year if you are trading as Ltd. I got lucky and 'fell into' bookkeeping and accounts as a job so I get them done for free. Hence sitting here doing my paperwork now (and needing the odd break!!).
  • my knowledge on that side of things isn't great, all i know is we have someone that can do all that.

i pm'd you a domain i found, tho it seems too similar to an US company doing the same thing. am brainstorming loads of ideas, and they seem to be getting better !

what i want to avoid is all the cheesy "selling4u", "cashitin4u" etc etc (both of which i am sure are taken...!)
