Help I need Excel

Hi I have just been given a new job description and I am having to deal with charts that have been created using Excel. I work from home but don't have excel on my computer.
In the meantime my son needs the full version of powerpoint for his school work.
What is my best way forward? I am not sure if my employer will buy the excel for me and was therefore looking for the cheapest way forward to get Excel and powerpoint. I have Works Suite 2005 and was wondering if there was an upgrade or, I was looking at microsoft office 2003 which seems to be a bit cheaper. However, will it be compatable with the 2007 version??
I am a teacher working in a supporting roll.... wonder if that might get me a discount?
TIA

you mention a child at school, so this is probably the cheapest, legal way forward!
Absolute bargain!

The alternative is to use the free compatible software out there. The best is Open Office which can be downloaded free. Or you could use Google Docs which is online and you will need to upload your Excel file to work on it and then save it back on your computer.

That only seems to apply to university/college.

Yes, he can you Open Office Impress.
Make sure you save as a .ppt though to use on the schools PC's.
Same with Spreadsheets, if you use them then save as .xls.
You can set this to do automatically in Open Office by clicking on
TOOLS
OPTIONS
LOAD/SAVE
and then changing to .doc; .xls; .ppt
Should your employer be providing you with the tolls to do your job correctly? It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
Another reccomendation for OpenOffice here - free, compatible and works great.Mike
