Will a 3 contract sim work in another 3 phone?

My daughter is on a contract with 3.
She has recently dropped her phone and the back cover will now not stay on.
I don't think 3 will repair or replace it as it was her fault.
Would it be possible for us to buy a 3 PAYG handset and swap the sim card over?
She is only getting a cheap one next time, as she isn't very careful with it!

one word of warning, 3 have been known to glue in pay and go sims to stop people buying then as cheap contract replacements. just check before you hand over the money if you can.«◊» PRO UNLOCKER «◊»0
