  • I think we need to know what Jess spent her money on before we can give her some advice and sympathy, if she is working where has the money, gone? For such young children I'll allow for childminder's fee, Fares, then Rent food, Elec/Gas in that order. £75 for rent seems quite cheap, but this would depend on the area I suppose. Then if Jess is a single parent, is she not claiming child benefit/credits on top of her salary. What about the children's father? is he contributing to the children's upkeep. We need hard facts, I can't give sympathy until I know what's going on, Jess could be gambling the money away for all we know. So first priority is an SOA.

Im sorry it may sound harsh but I dont believe post. If you have kids and really are in that bad a state there are always places to go as they wouldnt let kids starve.

Also no money but internet access in the house?

    Sorry
  • Goodness me haven't most of us been in desperate situations? I know I have. I think Jess was very brave posting and I hope that she accesses this site to up-date and hopefully get the support that this site and the peeps on it are so good at!

I have a daughter who is a single mother, works and gets no money from father. It seems that that working single mothers get little help from the state, I have always encouraged my daughter to work and pay her way, even though it means I am an unpaid childminder and personal loan bank to her. My daughter is very lucky she has all her family near her.
Jess I feel for you, have you no-one to help, talk to?

Who judging, we can't do that until she has given us the facts, yet again with help and advice and sympathy, we can't do that until she gives us the facts:confused:
