HELP - No Money Left

I have litterally no money left, I have been scrapping around the house for the last hour or so and I have found the grand total off £0.33. I really dont know what to do, I cant even afford the bus fare into work tomorrow. I have two young children (3 & 5) who are getting very hungry as we have not had a warm meal for the last 3 days.

I just really dont know what to do, I have no Family and I dont know were to turn. What makes it worst that there is a very high chance we could be homeless for Christmas. I have till Sunday to get my rent which is £75, I have no way off raising the money for that. We will out on the streets if I cant, Please can anyone give me some advise.

I will reply to what I can but the Meater will probably go out by the morning.

  • Hi Jess

I am sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time

It is really important that you get help as soon as you possibly can. If you can't make it into work tomorrow can you make it to the citizen's advice bureau??? They should be able tohelp you with this. Also if you are worried about losing your home you could call shelter. I will post the number in just a second.

  • This is from the Shelter website:

  • There will be people along to help you, I'm no expert but I didn't want to read and run.
I second the citizens advice, they may be able to help you negotiate about your rent and maybe suggest a crisis loan of some sort.

In the meantime do you have any friends who maybe able to help you out with some warm food for you and the little ones?

I'm sending you a huge hug xx

Oh your priorities are paying rent, food, and heating, and council tax EVERYTHING ELSE STOP PAYING. Ie cancel any direct debits that should be going out or standing orders.

Then contact either the CAB or CCCS (www.CCCS.co.uk) and fill in their debt remedy form, to see if you can go on a debt managment plan. CCCS are a FREE service so you will not get ripped off

Ref the no food. Please go to the DSS and apply for a crisis loan this is what they are for. Or go to your local Salvation Army and see if they can help.

What have you got in the house in the way of food? Can you mix it up a bit to get a warm meal?

If you are able to post on how you have come to be in debt crisis, then we can help more.

So if you post a statement of affairs (info about this at the top of the forum) then we may be able to see some other ways of helping you.

Whilst I would not normally suggest this, but do you have any jewellry or electric goods that you could pawn to get the £75?

    Good luck

There is no shame in asking for help - Speak with social services in the morning they will be able to give you some vouchers for food
  • My heart goes out to you, and well done for asking for help.

Speak to the Social this morning regarding a crisis loan.

Good luck to you and your children xxx

Can you ask your employer for a loan (assuming you can get there)?

Sometimes they are ok to lend you a bit until payday - or else deduct it from your wages on payday.

  • Again, didn't want to read and run, but thoughts are with you. Don't know what to suggest. Could you not go and beg from friends? I know it's not nice, but just £20 from a couple would at least see you through till the rent is due.
