Here's how:
Order Sky HD. It costs you £75 and £30 install unless you take multiroom and then it's free, and you can then use your existing box in another room.
It's meant to be £10 a month, but there is a workaround.
Most Sky HD boxes have real problems with lip syncing. Picture great, but sound not in time with picture.
So have it installed, then ring Sky and tell them you're having a lip syncing problem with your box and that you're not paying the £10 a month until it's sorted out (tell them nicely).
Hey presto, free Sky HD (albeit with lip syncing problems)

Very simple, but pointless never the less!!
Once you let them know there is a problem they will send an engineer round very soon.Unless you do have a serious problem with lip-sync(??),a complete waste of yours and there time0 -
i have a problem with the lip sync but only through the surround sound, and you can adjust the delay for that anyway.0

Surely the suggestion made by the OP is advising fraud.:rolleyes:0

we had the same problem when ours was installed a month ago, but apparantly it was a problem that sky knew about, so never got around to contacting them about it, within 2 weeks they sent an update over the airwaves that seems to have corrected it, so you wont be having it free for long, mind you there is a persistant rumour that they are going to drop the £10 fee like they did with sky+, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0

Sky make it up as they go along, I got a 2nd sky+ box and at the time when activating installer said that it would be £10 a month for 2nd box plus £10 for mirror. just said sky didn't sell it to me like that and want to cancel, installer then came back and said oh yes thats another offer sky do (so got the £10 for 2nd box wiped)
so have been looking for a work around on the HD fee

I don't think the £75 deal is now available. They're advertising normal Sky+ for £99 now. Guess they've cut back on the offer for those wanting to install for Xmas as a peak time for them!Titch

For anyone experiencing lip-sync problems there is a feature in the Sky menu auio settings for sorting it manually. Bizarrely any lip-sync problems i've ever had have been when watching 'Five'.... so it doesn't happen often in our house !0
