In the land of pickledpink all things are loverly. Special things happen with houses regardless of the larger economy. This price crash, opps , sorry, slight dip in the market, will all be over by early next year where they will march on, ever upward as the banks will be falling over themselves to lend money (credit crunch ends at 2.15 p.m January the 21 st).

By law everyone will be earning £40k a year and Nu labor will have dropped interest rates to 0%. Taxes will be slashed to help us all. The £400k house valued last year which eventually went for £250k a couple of months ago by us was a lie.

Carolt, jump in right now, you know you want to.

  • You'll always get doommongers praying and hoping for huge crashes - but it ain't gonna happen. Price drops have ALREADY begun to slow down......

Yeh...Only 2% a month now, diabolical. IF you owned a £500,000 house in
Purley you'd only be losing 10k a month....hardly worth bothering about.

    Ax
    Don't believe everything you think.

Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x
  • I tell you what that would be a nightmare if you had bought a 500,000 pound house in the last year, infact if you bought one 12 months, its dropped about 75000 pounds.:undecided

So the price now should be 425,000 pound and if it continues to fall at 2.2% each month for the next 12, that 500,000 pound house, will be worth about 300,000 pound.

I reckon there going too fall even more, because if you go back 12 months it was not has bad as it is now, im just going to keep on saving.

I think as long as you have got a decent deposit and a regular income you should be able to get a mortgage.

No ones buying has everyone can see the prices collapsing, you would have to be a idiot to buy today.

im just waiting for these bargains, at the rates the houses are falling i could be getting a house that was worth 500,000 pound in 2007 for 165000 pound:o

    fingers crossed hey;)

  • The report is already outdated.
Most of the report is about interest rates, the fact that banks withdrew the tracker mortgages and how likely it would be for FTBers to get a mortgage as it would be unlikely that the rates would be passed on.

Now the rates are being passed on, so it would be interesting to see if Merryn Somerset Webb still holds the same view

I look forward to you showing you have bought a house for circa £165,000 that was worth £500,000 in 2007.
I won't be holding my breath though;)

those of you who criticised my post should really look around at the other posts that Downey and the other user names that she has uses post.

let's see if you have double standards or not.
