Recently my sister passed away :( she has a Sony Ericsson K550i cybershot mobile  that she locked when she was not using it...now as she has passed away there is no possible way of getting the numbers to unlock this phone is there anything that i can do as we are trying to access photos for her 8 year old son.

Million thanks in advance for your help :)

  • I am pretty sure you can flash the phone to reset the security code, I am unsure though if this will wipe all the photo's etc that is on the phone. If you contact MSE Member gaming_guy he should be able to point you in the right direction as he is the Sony Ericsson expert on here.
    Hope this helps you.

Flashing the phone/memory will lose everything stored on the phone. The expert will offer you the best advice, hope you get it sorted:money:
Does the phone have a memory card? should be a Memory Stick Micro.

Try asking in the forum below:

I've got a SE V640i and that came with a 256MB (M2) Sandisk memory card (the same card found in the K550i), I bought the phone direct from Vodafone. I'm not sure if the phone would have come with a memory card but it's worth having a look. Hopefully the phone will have come with one and the photos are stored on there.

    Hi,

There is a slot on the side where the memory card will be, if there is one in it. It's an M2 card (memory stick micro), so to read it on a pc you'll need an adaptor, or a compatible phone to read it and link to a PC.

Just to say a huge thanks to all that replied :D really appreciated. Found the M2 card thingie got an adaptor today in town so we managed to access what we believe is all the photos.

Now we have the photos stored on a PC waiting to go onto another disk can we "flash" this phone to get the phone working  if so how do we go about doing this.

    Many thanks once again x

if you want to reflash the phone, then i suggest looking here
, but if you dont feel confident enough to reflash it just follow step 2 on how to back up the GDFS (i strongly recommend backing it up before you start messing about with firmware flashing). after you have backed up the gdfs, just connect the phone to xs++ again and click the GDFS button, then click phone lock to reset the code to 0000.

a full master reset should get rid of all the data on the phone without you having to reflash the phone.

edit: to find out the CID you will need to look at EROM CID:xx in the xs++ log after you connect the phone
