For example, I bought an LG pen drive for my sister which was far slower than my disgo pro.
Will check SanDisk website for info.

Can anyone who's got this comment on the encryption software? Is it straightforward to use? Do you have to put in a password once when opening the folder, or every time you access a file on it?
Thanks.0 -
I was gonna add a post about the encryption on it...
Basically you can either use it or not, it's not required that you use it but the software is pre-loaded on the pen anyway ... you don't get a backup though so it might be worth copying the folders back to your PC. It's probably not the best software to use but I was delighted that it was on there and on such a bargain piece of kit !
If you choose to use the encryption software, you start by opening the Cruzerlock software already on the pen. You have to enter a username and password, it goes without saying that if you forget these then you are right royally screwed. Then you click on 'add files' to select the files you want to copy over to your drive. The software then encrypts the data and also hides the root of the file so your pen doesn't show any trace of it on the drive or on your PC (which is nice!)
To access your files back you open the Cruzerlock software again, and after entering your username and password, you can either view the files or extract them to any folder on your computer in a similar way to Winzip.
One thing - if you delete files from your encrypted archive, it takes a while to re-organise and encrypt the remaining files. If you are doing a lot of deleting from your pen, it's worthwhile selecting the option to fully delete later - this basically removes the file from the 'my files' folder while keeping the data on the drive, and when you have finished all your deletes select the option to purge all selected data for deletion at the end ...
Hope this helps a bit !

nah I made it sound more difficult than it is ... cos you don't get instructions in the box.
I am only using the encryption on mine because I have personal files on it (which are also password protected !)
You need it if you live 'oop north' ... hehe0 -
