Hey guys just so u know the difference between 1st n 2nd gen

-slimmer
-built in speaker
-accessable volume contols on casing
-genius playlisting ( puts songs that sound good together)
-nike trainer (need the shoe sensor still but has the application on it)

if you update the 1st gen with 2.1 software you will get the genius software anyway so there you go.

Battery life as well? I've read somewhere that mentions the 2nd Gen's battery is better at holding a charge. Not sure if the battery life could be improved via a firmware upgrade though (like the zen micro).

Ohhhhh seemed to have really missed the boat on this one . It was just what I was looking for as a Christmas present for ds.

I am in the Chester area and have rang the check stock phone number and put in about 10 stores all out of stock. If anyone knows where there are any in a 20ish mile radius please let me know.

I upgraded mine to 2.1 first updating to 2 and then using itunes to 2.1

Plenty of free games/applications via application icon on the ipod

One thing to bear in mind about the Ipod touch V2(this is V1 with older firmware) is that it may not charge or replay in a docking station as I found out with another docking station that came with attachments for various ipods which work fine in ipod mini and ipod touch v1 (with latest firmware) but not in v2 with same firmware I believe they changed the pins of at the bottom whsilt it may connect it wont charge or replay

This ipod on offer doesnt have the latest firmware not even version 2.0 which costs £5.99

EDIT just tried V2 and V1 in another 2 year old docking station and it works charges/plays but not in another one I tried various adaptors

oh bummer, iv just seen on the argos website that if you click on special offers on this ipod you can get a free case. iv missed out on that then
