Train from Birmingham to London cheaper than from MK to London??? What can I do?
I have a monthly pass from Birmingham to Milton Keynes.
London is about 40 minutes away from MK by train
London is about 2 hours away from Birmingham by train, but it always seems to work out cheaper for me to buy a ticket directly from BHM to LON than MK to LON.
So I have already paid for 2/3 of the journey and it annoys me to have to get another ticket. From Birmingham it is about £19 with chiltern rain but from MK to london is more than that :-(
I saw something on the show about buying tickets in advance, but the train person said it would not really help me as I travel at peak times.
Any advice would help.

Cheaper tickets are available at peak times, just not quite so many of 'em, and they go quick. Try booking three months in advance, if that's possible.
