What a freudulent slip to make!"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

jscalow the equation should be on your bill... it depends on which area of the country you are in, as some areas distribute "better" gas than others, to put it simply.Sunny in Southampton.0

Actually a gas unit on your meter is 100 cubic feet.
It can vary slightly according to the calorific value of your gas, but it is approx 31 kWh for each gas unit.0 -
littletommytucker wrote: »Sorry for late response... If you applied to BG on July the 28th then it would actually be Price Guarentee December 2009, and you would be on a tarriff currently 42% below standard rates on Direct Debit, or 35% cheaper than quarterly bill.
Double check these savings - if I remember correctly there was a hefty premium on PGDec2009, so the savings wouldn't be the full size of the increase.
(Also, even if it was, the savings % would be different to the increase - e.g. if there is a rise of 50% from £100, we go to £150. Going from £150 to £100 is only a saving of 33%)0 -
Yes I do apologise, the premium was 9.8% if my memory serves me correct. The saving would still be good especially on the gas with the 35/42% price increase.Sunny in Southampton.0

Cheers,
Couldn't remember and didn't really look.
On electricity 2011 might actually be better than 2009.
Now can we get 2009 for gas and 2011 for ele?0 -
I remember leccy (for me, Yorkshire region) represented a 40+% premium on 2009 Fix compared to Click 5 (I don't compare anything to BG standard rate as that would be silly, lol).
PS SwanJon, alas no, you couldn't just get Gas on the Dec 2009 fix, probably because all the profit would appear to be coming from the leccy, lol..Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Yes unfortunatly the fixed rate was only avaliable on both Gas and Electric... Gas only customers were bullied into taking out gas as well if they wanted to fix there rates

But some people working there didnt realise that and were protecting Gas only customer prices LOL. It is possible to do, just depends who you speak to again.
If i knew i wouldnt get caught id be putting everyone on this forum on lower tarriffs
.....well the nice ones anywaySunny in Southampton.0
