Arrived today and first impressions from splashing water over windscreen were excellent, however, it rained while I was driving back this evening and they were smearing badly. The type of smear where it evaporates quickly but temporarily impairs your line of sight.

They also squeak a lot which became annoying after a while as the Bosch blades are silent. It may be they need some time to settle in though their website advises cleaning windscreen and blades with a solution of washing-up liquid and bicarb of soda, guess I'll give that a try and see how it goes

They've now been refunded as the smearing was too bad. The explanation was either that either my windscreen is more curved than normal or that the blades aren't heavy enough to exert enough force on the windscreen. Quite possible it's due to windscreen curvature as Champion blades wouldn't work a while ago, for the same reason, they juddered a lot.

I've discovered a local motor factors selling Bosch Super Plus blades for just £12 a pair so will be buying there.

The only problem now is these Tripledge wipers have deposited Silicone over the windscreen (one of their selling points) and the coating won't shift completely even with a solution of washing-up liquid and bicarb soda. It's particularly persistent at the edges of the screen, where the wipers reach the edge of their 'cycle'. Any ideas for getting rid of it? :o

:( vinegar and newspaper may be old school but usually works for me on glass. Alternatively a decent valetter would have an industrial glass cleaner for clearing bugs etc, you could ask nicely!?

Silly question coming through - does it matter whether it's white distilled vinegar or is brown malt vinegar ok?

(I don't have any white vinegar so if malt is unsuitable I'll pick some up tomorrow :o)

If all else fails, I think "glass polish" will definitely get rid of it. There's an autoglym branded one.
