Problems connecting PC to LCD TV

    will the pc load in safe mode?, have you ascertained the pc is actually booting?( eg by connecting another monitor).
    what pc hardware ie graphics card is it?, the tv will probably have a panel res of 1360X768 or close so that is the best res to try if your graphics support it (on-board intel don't)
    multi monitor settings on the pc and you are changing the wrong display number maybe?

    I have an onboard Intel graphics chip so its not that great. The PC is booting and working as I have connected it to the original Dell monitor but the issue is connecting to the larger LCD TV.

    if you goto DISPLAY SETTINGS through the control panel. Can you not swop between the monitor and the tv? (It says 'identify monitors' on vista, id have to boot up XP to check that one)
