anyone brought from deal sniper?

  • After posting my info on 18th December I am still trying to get a refund from Deal Sniper for the first DS that I received. As the second one was seized by customs they seem to be happy enough to refund this (even though it took about 10 emails to them to get that far!!). However, as I received the first one and I am now asking for a refund they are proving very difficult to get a straight answer from! I have now been emailing them for almost 4 weeks and still can't get them to reply to my concerns! All they do is keep sending me the same generic reply about the chargers being the problem and not the consoles. I have pointed out to them that although the console supplied was in an official DS box, the box itself wasn't sealed with the normal clear round seals used by the manufacturer. Also, the DS was a rose quartz colour but the second stylus supplied was the ordinary pink colour?? Above all else the DS was supplied without the manufacturer's manual. All that was in the box was a photocopied users guide which does not show any serial numbers, etc.

I am at a complete loss as to how to proceed with this!! If the amount of money involved was less than £50 I would honestly just give the whole thing up and put it down to experience. As it cost us over £100 though I really do want to get this resolved and get shot of the damn thing!!

Has anyone managed to obtain a contact telephone number for Deal Sniper?? As the only route of complaint open to me is by their email/tickets I am finding it sooooo frustrating when they just send me the generic responses back!!

  • I failed to receive a couple of R4DS cartridges. I was subjected to all the same stalling tactics and emails mentioned previously. In addition I received a "Declaration of Non-Receipt" form from DealSniper which I completed and returned to no effect. I could also find no way to get to calls I had previously logged with them. DealSniper just kept on closing the calls I raised. I've now set about reclaiming my money through the credit card company. This has been a salutory lesson in the dangers of purchasing from Hong Kong....
  • Sounds like they are using the same stalling tactics.....it's just soooo frustrating!! Let me know how you get on with your credit card company. My husband (who paid for the console) has already contacted his credit card company and was told that unless we get a letter from Deal Sniper to say that the item is counterfeit then they won't process his claim. This is useless because if Deal Sniper were willing to admit this in the first instance then they would probably have paid the refund by now!!!

I do just feel that I'm going round in circles!!!

Also if you send it back and customs do seize it then you can send them the letter to say it is and they really should have no option but to refund you.
I'm keeping on at these idiots because I want the refund from them not the Credit card company. It's not the card company's fault.

thanks Randolph. contacted trading standards complained to them because purchasers are still buying from these guys and the website is still live conning us all and other parents in the same boat. ive delayed in responding to you. eventually i took the plunge and on dealsnipers request, i returned the ds to them. they let me know that they had received it and it had gone for checking. theyve had it back for a while (HENCE DELAY IN RETURNING TO FORUM). however ive received email from them today saying that they are returning ds to me (they have not confirmed if it is the same one or a replacement). time will tell. if it does get returned. i am pretty sure that these guys are selling counterfeits.the serial number would not register when i tried to register it on the nintendo site. so i am still not certain of the outcome of this. ie whether i will get a working replacement etc but keep me posted and i will do likewise. cheers.
  • Have finally had my son's DS returned to me. It is the same one and they have returned it in a working state (so far) my son is quite pleased, yet I am pretty sure that it is a copy. Given the chance again, I would buy from a reputable company in the UK and avoid Dealsniper. I have been promised to be refunded the postage for returning the faulty product to Hong Kong, the mising slot cover has been replaced so all good. Doesn't alter the fact that all of this has been a big headache. Best wishes and hope this post helps another single parent out there avoid the ordeal that I have had.

hi has anybody brought from here as they have some great deals on ds's

We recently brought a DS from Deal sniper and it became faulty within the 12 month warranty period. We sent the console back to Hong kong and it took them 6 weeks to confirm they had recieved it back. They have recently emailed to say they have got the parcel and if we want it returned fixed it will be £40.00 or £15.00 to return to us in the same state. My message to anyone thinking of purchasing from this site is think again as its all well and good when your buying but when you have a problem with what you have purchased they are not interested unless you agree to hand over even more money!!!!!!!!!:eek:
