Please take my word for it...you do not want to buy from Deal Sniper. I am this week trying to sort out the mess they have made of my Christmas gifts for the kids and it looks like it's going to be a long slog! I ordered one Nintendo DS at the end of November which I received from Hong Kong in around 2 weeks. Please note that at no point in the ordering process did it mention that the item was being shipped from Hong Kong! I ordered a second Nintendo DS the following week for my son. After chasing Deal Sniper because it was never getting delivered I was given various excuses and told to keep checking the tracking info. About a week after it was reported in the press that a shipment of Nintendo DS's had been seized by customs in the UK (because they were counterfeit and dangerous) I gave up trying to get info from Deal Sniper and contacted Customs directly. They confirmed that my order had been seized and would be destroyed. When I asked them about the first DS that I had received they told me that if it was from the same company then it would most likely be counterfeit as well. I then received a letter from Customs to confirm that the second DS was seized which I have happily passed to Deal Sniper in electronic form to obtain a refund. I was firstly told that the refund would be made within 7 days of them receiving the letter from customs. I have now received a further email from them asking me to again send the electronic copy to a different address and that the refund will take up to 14 days. If however I don't receive a response from them by then I have to contact them again. It seems as though they don't even have confidence in their own complaints handling system!!! I am assuming that this refund will go through eventually but I am now left with the first DS that I ordered which I cannot use!! As Customs didn't seize it I have nothing other than their statement to contact Deal Sniper with. I have no idea where I stand with this and Customs said that if I sent it to them they would destroy it with the others but would not supply me with a letter to confirm that it's counterfeit! I will be contacting Deal Sniper tomorrow as the many communications I have sent about both the DS's has been confused so want to start afresh tomorrow with my correspondence about the first DS. If anybody know's where I stand legally with this I would really appreciate it if you could post a message. Would be nice to have some legal jargon behind me before I contact them!!!

I have also fallen victim to this company.
I purchased a DS in October for my sister birthday. When she unpacked it at the end of Novemeber everything seemed fine until she got half way through a game that wouldn't continue. She had to close the lid to move on but it seems the sensors on the lid don't work. I took this up with them and they immediately blamed it on the game. We checked the game in another DS and all was fine.
I have since done some digging around and found that many people have been caught out now since my purchase some cottoning on faster than I did.
If you paid through paypal or on a credit card you can ask for your money back. I have found some forums where they have been succesful.
What a pain to have to deal with for the end of the year. It makes me sad that the present I was so excited about giving ended up been a fake.
DO NOT BUY FROM DEAL SNIPER

I would be interested in knowing which forums you mentioned that have had successful unhappy customers get their money back from Deal Sniper. I bought a Nintendo DS Lite plus games bundle from them in Oct 08 ready for my son's birthday in November. At first I was rather annoyed that it came from the Far East and I had to pay import duty (approx £30). I hadn't a clue it was to come from such a distance. It did arrive quite quickly though. ON opening the packaging I noticed that although the product seemed brand new there was no games slot cover. Also it took me a while to realise that the sound wasn't working. I'm novice at games consoles and didn't know they had sound. I raised a ticket with Deal Sniper, the issue is ongoing as they wanted photos, which never seem to upload to their site. The games keep locking or the console won't boot up at all. So far I am not too happy but I can't say as yet that Deal Sniper won't be helpful in the end! I'll keep you posted. I did pay by Paypal so I think that will be my next line of action. Bit of a pity that I am wasting the Christmas hol chasing Deal Sniper whilst my poor 5 year old climbs all over me and the chair I am sat at. Any advice or thoughts much appreciated.0

This board does not have mods. Clearly stated at the top of the thread.
There must be at least one mod, who do you think moves and deletes threads? It's just that the mods are not active, they rely on members flagging abuse and stuff. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
I've also have been communicating with them as the console doesn't work properly. They have now said to me:
"Thank you for your email.
Besides the pause function is not working after the lid is closed, is there any other problems currently?
If not, we hope to provide some free gift for you, and we hope you can keep the console instead of sending back to us."
So they would rather me have something that doesn't work properly and give me a free gift to compensate. This is ridiculous. They don't want it sent back because customs will seize it.
At first they seem really helpful but all that's happened is a number of fob offs.
I've asked twice now they refund the money. I will take this up with paypal if they don't next week.0 -
Has anyone had any joy from chasing Deal Sniper yet for a refund. They are asking me to send mine back for testing but I am concerned that either customs will confiscate on the way out of the country to Hong Kong or Deal Sniper will not refund or replace. Deal Sniper have sent so many delay tactic emails that I missed the 45 day complain window with Paypal too. Any one any ideas. I am going to take up this issue with Trading Standards. HM rev and taxes did not help.0

Have you got any further news Randolph?0

Hi Sputnik69,
Well I put it to them that the console was counterfeit and I got a standard email that doesn't mean anything but denial. The fact of the matter is that I have a faulty console and they are trying to fob me off with compensations in the form of other goods? This is not acceptable if you buy a good that is faulty then the manufacturer has to fix it I'm well within the warranty.
I checked the paper work I got and the instructions for use have been cut off at the bottom so they are not even complete. They ihey ignored the question as to why. I also logged onto Nintendo and it says the console should come with a card that has a serial number on so you can register the product with them. Guess what I don't have one of these.
If you go to Nintendo.co.uk and go to the fast track repair but and follow the instructions eventually you will come to a section that says put in your serial number, put yours in and see what happens.
Not done this yet as don't have the console but I will tomorrow. Only thing I can do then is call Nintendo and see what they advise.
I didn't realise there is a 45 days window with Paypal. Can they do nothing now then?
If not then your credit card company should give you the money back. Under section 75 of the consumer act you can put in a claim. Trading standards told me this.
Let me know how you get on.0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances:
It's "bought" not "bRought".Happy chappy0 -
Also if you send it back and customs do seize it then you can send them the letter to say it is and they really should have no option but to refund you.
I'm keeping on at these idiots because I want the refund from them not the Credit card company. It's not the card company's fault.0
