line rental increase just after renewing contract
Options
I renewed my vodafone contract on the 12th of december. Have just recieved a letter that was delayed in the christmas post that they are putting my line rental up by £1, and reducing the minutes rolling over from 2 months to 1 month.
4 days after the contract was renewed! I'm more annoyed about the speed of the increase after the renewal than the increase itself!
They did say I could cancel the contract though
anyone else got this letter?
thanks

I would just cancel it and see if they ask for the phone back. If they say they want the phone back, then you can decide whether to keep the contract rolling or not.
The new handset would be conditional on you remaining with them for a further 12 months. But they may not have a mechanism in place for recovering handsets where a contract is terminated due to hiked/amended conditions.0 -

the letter said i could cancel my contract, does that mean I could cancel it and keep the phone i have had for 10 days?
is there a date when these changes where made ? it seem a bit odd they just suddenly changed the T/C of the tariff,.. i think maybe voda are just telling u the changes made too the tariff early date but there didnt apply too u at the time cuzs ur where already signed up ..u see what i mean ?,.. what is the name of the tariff in question ?0 -
from 1st feb the changes take place. 2 other people i have asked have also got the same letter. so don't know if it affects everyone, though i have only asked people on off peak tariffs.0

I would be very quick to terminate contract (if you want to) as usally there is only a 7 -14 day window where you can terminate the contact. After that you are stuck untill the full 12 months is over!!!0

Which new tarrif did you choose - maybe worth checking https://www.vodafone.co.uk to see if there's a better one before you try to cancel totally.

i didn't choose a new tariff i stayed on my old tariff, an old singlepoint tariff, offpeak 600. I wanted to keep it as it gives me 12p day time voda to voda phone calls instead of the 29p they charge now. I pay £10.20 a month, so it has gone up to £11.20. The mins aren't crossnet work0

which contracts does this affect? I'm on vodafone anytime 125+250 Texts but i've not received any letters regarding an increase in my call plan. It would be good to know what type of customers it affects, ie singlepoint vodafone or all vodafone...0
