Deleted email recovery

Can anyone point me towards an easy free tool to recover a deleted email please? I use Outlook Express.

    The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.

    Is it not on your web mail account or do you have it set to delete ?

    d900, any of these easiest to use or should I just choose any?

    sherlock, not sure - it's one I deleted a couple of months ago, what's a web mail account?:o Not in recycle anyhow.

    Umm, thought Outlook was through my ISP?:o:o I'm with Virgin, never used Tiscali.

    If it's not in the deleted mail folder in Outlook Express, you can't. Your ISP will not retain copies of it.

    ok, I'm confused now - what do all the programmes for recovery do? I've read about as much as I understand - that is in some cases you can and some you can't. is it my particular ISP that means I can't recover?

    Any deleted OE mails will still be in the Deleted Items.dbx file on your system, unless you have compacted folders. Nothing to do with your ISP.

    You said you looked in the recycle bin? When you delete an email it doesn't go into the recycle bin it goes into the deleted mail folder within Outlook Expressit should be a folder below your Inbox.
