£600 for a 32 inch TV? Any reason for not getting a 42 inch panasonic HD plasma for the same money?0

            i'm still really stuck lol.
i have played 360 like i said on the 2nd samsung tv listed and it looks and plays perfectly, great crisp visuals and no blur or frame-rate delay. i found the gaming mode enhances the feel of the gameplay also. not too fussed on not that great sound quality, more on the picture.
so if i am using that samsung as a benchmark, im looking at the other televisions i listed and they have much better resolution and contract, but also less brightness and not the 100Hz.
So I guess I am trying to balance the above out...how in the above would the pro's outweigh the cons?
P.S. If you really cannot notice the difference between 1080 and 768 or 720 on 32" tv on 360 then i don't need the 1080. I'm not going to be watching movies on blue-ray etc so really just want it for the 360.0 -
100Hz is down to the circuitry used.
For example, blu rays are actually 24 frames per second. Normal tv programmes are 25. A standard 50Hz tv displays the 25 frames per second twice. a 100Hz one displays it 4 times. So what it does is 'fill in the gaps' inbetween each frame. Some tvs therfore actually look WORSE through 100Hz, due to bad circuitry. Also, the human eye is only capable of detecting change around 80Hz (and im talking JUST about)
So for the money, 50Hz is fine. You pay MORE MONEY for 100Hz, but at a cost
Brightness is near utter BS. You can set it in the menu and calibrate WHATEVER the figure is. Better resolution SHOULD be better. But its certainly not the 'be all and end all' of picture quality. For example, my pioneer is 768 pixels as opposed to the full 1080, but it BLOWS AWAY every tv ive ever seen! (Though Pioneers are VERY expensive)
The contrast ratio is barely noticeable above 5000 (Im not saying it ISNT noticeable, but youd have to look long and hard at most films to tell a difference)
so again ~ speaking as somone who really does follow all this stuff. My vote is the Panasonic:idea:0 -
I was trying to find a bit more info

So you understand their ratings. They base the product they review against the quality of the competition, at the price its sold, the size it is and the facilities it has
So theyre saying that for the price and the size its certainly one of the best tvs money can buy (Facilities vary WILDLY on tvs, making them fairly hard to review):idea:0 -

I've just tried this link and it says an error has occurred.
Sorry to hijack this but a quick question to AliEnRIK (who has helped me in the past):
I've got a 'normal' 21" television and just use a freeview box and dvd recorder. Is it worth me upgrading to a 32" LCD or Plasma television or will the picture quality be worse?0 -
A decent spec sony will look fantastic

(That link worked for me and im using a diferent computer):idea:0 -
Thanks for your quick reply AliEnRIK! I've seen a Sony KDL32V400 with free Sony Home Cinema System (which my son is after) for £399 with Curry's - would this be a good one to go with?0
 -
Assuming you mean the KDL32V4000 (extra zero) then yes. Its a very good 32" tv (Have to be sure as theres so many codes floating around these days its WAY to easy to make mistakes)
Just bare in mind that all the extra 'processing modes' need switching off (Contrast enhance, digital noise reduction etc) should you buy one:idea:0
