I worte the mileage down and it was not even a mile up when i collected it. Also i left a top of the range faceoff stereo and Sat Nav in the glovebox. Both were there when i returned.

Ok, but splitting hairs I feel. I normally make a note of the mileage as Sturll has said and have not had a problem (with Purple Parking).

I was reading there site and it says they have a meet and greet and service and a park and ride service. We;re thinking of using park and ride, so does that mean we dont need to leave the keys with them.

Will take a picture of the mileage.

You still leave the keys with the park and ride.

With respect can i ask what the problem is? I have an Audi A3, left about £1000 worth of easily removable things in the glove box and noted my mileage. Everything was there when i returned, the car had moved metres.

I didn't have to worry about losing my keys on holiday, didnt have to worry about remembering where i parked my car, didnt have the hassle of dragging my cases and kids miles across a car park. I have to ask - is the fact you leave your keys just too easy?

I think Sturll, that the OP has been made very wary by the 'companies' that have been featured on TV that do do some very stupid things with your car in your absence. Hopefully peoples' recommendations on this thread will help put their mind at rest.

I have to say though, I personally wouldn't leave anything of great value in the car while I was away, but that's untrusting little old me ;0)

we used some sort of loyalty points from somewhere to pay for a nights stay at a hotel close to the airport, the night before the flight. you can leave your car at the hotel, take your keys with you and they get you to and from the airport in the hotel car/bus. easy!!!

1. Stop worrying - for every story featured on Watchdog there are thousands of customers who DON'T suffer such experiences.
2. On every airport parking facility I have used, I have ALWAYS had to leave keys with the company.
3. I've used companies over the last ten years at Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester and never had a problem.
4. Be sensible - just leave your car keys (make sure you don't leave your house keys on the same ring!), take a photo of the car mileage on your phone if this reassures you.
5. Are you sure Tesco still offer Clubcard vouchers for airport parking? I thought they'd stopped last year. Shame if they have as that's where I spent most of mine on.

If you are looking to stay at a hotel the night before, we've just booked the Travelodge at Heston for £19. This is for a family room as there are 4 of us. It is not far from Purple Parking and at this price we think it's a good deal. I also went through Topcashback which gives 3.5% back.

Its not my car and my family isnt keen on leaving their keys with purple parking even though all the comments posted are positive.

Does anyone know of any codes with a BAA carpark which we could get for a little bit cheaper??
