Baby Items: Sell, Keep or Give Away?

I have kept all the nice clothes given as presents so that my son can hopefully use them when he gets older and has children of his own. If not I will keep them for when he's left home and I feel nostalgic.
Gave most of the rest to family and friends, no time to do a carboot and things would go for pence anyway, and Ebay is just too much hassle and it wouldn't go for much either. Most of the stuff I get is cheap primark/george stuff for wearing day to day without worrying if a splodge lands on it.0 -
We don't have many clothes at the moment but what I will probably do is keep my favourite bits and pass on the rest to friends. We definitely want more children so although we won't have a full set by the time I am expecting #2 we might be given more, and if not it gives me an excuse to buy nice ones!I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0

I've kept pretty much everything in good condition of my 3.5 yo DD's in the loft. We didn't know if or when we wanted to try for another baby until earlier this year, I'm now 4 months pregnant and am breathing a huge sigh of relief as the only thing we'll have to buy is a new matress and some blue clothes if we have a boy
.
The way we saw it was the bags of stuff aren't doing any harn in the loft, had we been in need of the cash we would have ebayed it. Saying that the one thing I have ebayed is shoes, I've found clarks have a pretty good resale value.
Once the new baby has finished with things then I'll ebay/charity shop or chuck. Then cross my legs until DH goes for the snip :rotfl: .0 -
I kept all the stuff I couldn't bear to part with (probably too much
) for sentimental value and the kids love looking at their old baby clothes nowdays.
The rest I ebayed (I discovered ebay whilst on maternity leave 6 years ago and made quite a bit of money back then!) or I gave some nice bits to friends - I had a boy first and then a girl so I couldn't really reuse many of the clothes as I didn't go for the neutral colours - my stuff was always very boyish or very girlie - no inbetween!0 -
Kept all the clothes till we knew what final kid, baby #2, will be. As he's a boy, only a few bits and pieces can be reused (whites, neutrals, etc) when he arrives. Have put aside a tiny pink sleepsuit and pair of socks as keepsakes. The rest, I think, will probably go to a charity shop. Don't know anyone (personally) that could use the stuff. I had half an idea about eBaying it but that'll probably be too much effort...
Actually, I suppose if I had the time, skill and inclination then some of it could be dyed blue...? Maybe worth considering if your baby clothes are the "wrong" colour.0 -

Not sure about that Starbump - thinking back to my previous teenage skill at dying items of clothing I would probably end up with purple or tie die blue and pink babygro's :rotfl:0 -
We kept everything after DD1 & used it for DD no 2. We then sold on e-bay the crib, moses basket, chair, bath etc as a single lot. We have used e-bay, car boot, freecycle & also just given things away. A very dear friend had her much wanted IVF baby a few month ago (after about 6 trys!) and a friend went to visit her so I used up any space in her suitcase & they took it to South Africa where my friend now lives!!

Most stuff we got given by well meaning people so we have now passed it on to our friend who is expecting at christmas, as she has just being made redundant it is especially appreciated by her. We sorted clothes into neutral colours for her (having different sex and different time of year) but stuff like spare bedding, white babygrows, newborn vibrating seat thingy, safety gate, washable nappies etc is appreciated.
Loads of boy clothes went to another friend with a younger boy.
The occasional item I have ebayed.
I am currently deciding whether I want to ebay his christening outfit or not?0 -
Charity shop. Where we buy most of our clothes for our 18 monther.
He went a play group the other day in his Ralph Lauren polo shirt and his Guess jeans - cost £3.00."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
