Icesave ISA transfer - unpaid cheque

Has anyone else got an unpaid cheque back after requesting an ISA transfer out of Icesave?
Icesave closed my ISA and sent a cheque to Alliance & Leicester on 2 October which was credited to my new ISA on 9 October (although A&L showed it as 3 October).
On 15 October, Alliance & Leicester returned the cheque to me, stamped "Payment Prohibited by Legal Order".
I have just sent a blank e-mail to FSCS to get the "First" Icesave e-mail from them and sent a blank reply to confirm. I had also sent an e-mail to FSCS on Thursday explaining my situation but have had no reply yet.
I'm assuming that I will be stuck with a manual compensation claim that might take 6 weeks or so, anyone else caught in the same position?
A touch freaky but the exact same has happened to me, same transfer, same bank and exact same dates. To top it all A&L told me the cheque had most definately cleared and to go ahead and spend, spend, spend...two days later it bounced!!
FSCS have been unable to provide any consistant information and even told me last week that a claim form was being sent as we speak, guess what still no form. I have now been told that a newbatch of accounts with Icesave have been discovered today!?! yes, really...today as we speak and my details may be in there...
I do hope your having better luck with them than I have. At the end of the day the majority have been seen to and the minority won't create headlines...I think I shall have to resort to informing Solicitor, MP etc0 -
Still no application form received, the FSCS website says to ring them if you haven't had anything by 16 January.
I have written to my MP explaining the situation and how I feel it is unfair we are suffering a loss of income every day we are waiting with no interest accruing.
I can't think of any way we can speed the process up, when I've rang FSCS they couldn't give any information about my specific case - just a general idea of when they thought forms were being sent.I am an Accountant.
