Have you the ability to follow the links and read the information given.

So, far you have been given links to the manual for your camera as well as a solution if there is no existing Firewire/iLink connection on your laptop.

Try reading and digesting the advice that has been given thus far.

i am new on here and i am sorry if i am going off the thread , but why do some people posting replies on here have to be so rude, unfortunatly we can't all be experts on everything and lemonade just asked a perfectly reasonable question to which poker face answered equally reasonably so why the remarks from other quarters?? i just don't get it, if you think a question is daft then go onto another post you don't need to sit down and type an insulting answer!

Ok, so i am quite capable of reading the links. But this is not what I wanted. I quite simply asked if i could connect this to my computer. I didn;t want to add extra bits into my computer to do this!! I have read the links to the sony website quite a few times, to the point that i now know that they have recently added a download for the picture package which is compatible with windows vista!! I am also aware from reading the sony website that this camcorder wasn't compatible with windows vista!!! I was just asking for other ways around it, not thinking that i would have to add onto my existing computer. So yes I now realise that probably the only way to do this is with a firewire card in my comp!!

I wanted advice not criticism. But thank you.

You did get advice. You are just acting up because it's not exactly what you wanted to read.

The answer is YES, it is compatible with Vista and YES you can connect it to your computer....as long as you have an iLink/Firewire port. If you haven't, fit one for less than a tenner or try an find a Camcorder that will fit with your existing set up...spending hundreds of pounds.

Are you really as silly as you are making yourself out to be?

Less than £10 or more than £200, take your choice.

If you have to know what you have onboard, use Belarc

Listen, you idiot. You clearly don't have anything to contribute to this post, so try to find your friends elsewhere.

If you are referring to myself, I have made it very clear how the OP can go forward. Clearly she wants to go her own way by purchasing a new Camcorder or purchasing useless adaptors.

She's been told. If she chooses to ignore the advice, that's up to her and nothing to do with you.

Tha's ironic. Posting on a thread in which you have nothing to contribute.

Seems that you are living your life vicariously. Start your own thread or find a thread where you can actually make a difference. Don't be a loser all of your life.

Now, unless you can stick to the topic...how about you go away?
  • Actually i am having the same problem sio i was interested to seek advice, it only goes to prove you are extremly bitter as i first thought. you've given me a laugh if nothing else

If I am so bitter then why am I on this thread helping someone?

It appears that you are only posting because you haven't got any friends.

Anyway, I hope my advice has helped you. Do you need any more help and advice...or are you just wasting our time?
  • i'm not lowering myself to reply to you any further, if that constitues help then i'd hate to think what hinderance is, i noticed your posts equal 87 per month.........hummm perhaps my advice about getting out more needs to be taken on board,
  • I think maybe this is getting out of hand.

Quite simply i wanted something that could be done at the drop of a hat. Needed to transfer video onto comp to email out to reli's in oz. Can't get anyone to fit the necessary firewire card into my comp for over a week, i work shifts and don't find it that easy to take my comp into someone to do this during office hours and WAS just trying to rectify a problem which I thought I could deal with by a purchase on the internet.

I am not daft, do understand the difference between spending a tenner and 200 quid, but sometimes there are other reasons behind needing to do things quickly.

I appreciate the constructive help and don't feel like I have to justify myself any further....
