- When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will: - check online banking
- update spreadsheets
- storecupboard meals
- make a loaf in breadmaker
- go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- not use car
- try and have a no spend day
Suppose there will be lots of work to catch up on after my few days off so i'd best get stuck in:rolleyes:
Have a good day everyone, catch up with you all later:D

Morning All :hello:
Love your signature Chunky, but what a wonderfully descriptive user name, I do hope you mean your preferred chocolate shape? :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well I'm back properly now
but Popeye flew away this morning
so I must get on and achieve something before I join him at Christmas for 2 weeks :happylove
So today I have/will:- made a failure of a loaf in the BM
set it as we left for the airport at 5am, it was a lump of dense dough, baked solid when I returned. But in true MSE style, I have "interesting" sandwiches today for lunch.;) - checked Quidco, and Abel & Cole who'd rejected me (I thought I'd probably completed off-line and that was why) have sent money! so I now have gone from "Rejected" to "Received" !!!

- sorted banking and updated signature since I was last here. Our debt has risen, but we know where we are, and why it rose. (Popeye's car was stolen in the summer, we've had to sort a replacement, and 4 return flights to Africa bought  )
- In small DFW style, this morning I did a small amount of washing up that had been left, and then used the rest of my nice hot soapy water to wipe down the kitchen and clean the floor. (Before MSE I'd have used different chemicals, and had new bowls of hot water)
- charging my phone at work
- NSD
- And I DID join the gym
so tonight I have my induction, and I must visit it regularly to get my moneys worth - feel free to nag if I don't post my gym visits.
- check for mystery shops
- did a load of washing at 30, which will be line dried
- I shall of course sparkle - it's good to be back :A

Not much else. Sending off my tokens for the mp3 player out The Sun (which were accumulated by rescuing the paper on a daily basis from the recycling bin at work).Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Hello everyone,
Today is the first day of some of my changes (as many as I can manage without burning myself out)
- I am eating the healthy food i have bought recently (including snacking on some raw red pepper at breaktime) so that it doesn't all just go off in the fridge.
- store cupboard dinner and leftovers lunch
- aiming for NSD
- Samaritans shift tonight (saving electricity in the house)
- spending an hour before my shift cleaning the kitchen and continuing with "the great clearout"
- I am going to call to change my address with CC company (I've been living in my place nearly 8 months...)
- I am going to apply for my updated drivers licence with my correct address on it.
- I am going to read as much of my library book as I can (I have extended them... AGAIN, and have been told this is the very very last time)
- I am going to check my mobile phone spend
- I am going to work very hard to make the rest of my week more straight forward at work.
I think that is plenty to be getting on with today
Thanks again for your support yesterday, I think I'm going to need it again in the days and weeks to come.
