Iffy Computer - can I send back?

Hi all.
I had a new computer delivered to my parents house on Thursday whilst away. Over the weekend I set it up & noticed a few things wrong with it. First, a slight rattle, so I opened it to discover one of the G Force graphics cards (It's got two
) lose and bouncing around inside. I tried pushing it back into it's slot but it wont go, not ever! I also noticed back plate screws missing (explains the loose card a little), swapped cards around but not having much luck. I can't get two cards to work. Disconnected the bad(?) one and did get my PC to run, but fiddling about again with it left me with VGA graphics, no sign of a GForce card in device manager
I'm sick of it and have packed it all away - I'm not ever going inside a PC case again
I emailed the company to tell them I wasn't impressed with the 'tacky' build and asked them for a RMA to send it back for a refund or to get working properly.
the Warranty= 3 years with a collect & return for the first year. Does that mean they would send a courier at no cost to me?

I certainly wouldn't be footing any cost of sending a dodgy pc back! You did right in emailing the company, but I'd contact their customer relations department too.
Just out of curiousity, what make PC is it, or where is it from?My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0 -
Just a small word of warning, did you break any
tamperproof stickers on the back when you opened the case?
If so you will have voided the warranty and as such they may
refuse a refund/repair.
If not then I would demand a working PC or refund
and tell them you want either within 30 days.
Who did you buy it from?"Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

Wrong. A test case went to court quite a few years ago which stated that as a PC was modular and designed to be upgraded, a warranty couldn't be voided merely by breaking the seal on the case.0 -
Consumer Direct have a useful page about your rights when a computer is faulty.

Hi Everyone, Thank you for taking time to reply
Raptorman side panel on the Cosmos S case comes off with ease - no seal to break
Torby it's mine, for my new flat when ready
will be used for high end gaming and photoshop work.
Cyberpower (UK)
Just this second reading their email response which made me a lot happier...
Ok, firstly please accept my apologies for this workmanship.
It looks by your e-mail that you are unable to do anything on your end to fix it so i can only offer a collection to get it back here. I will ofcourse install windows on the correct drive and screw the GFX card in for you.
Please fill in this RMA form and e-mail it back so i can authorise this for you.
Phew! Let you know what happens

Cosmos S? Cyberpower? Yep definitely a high end machine.
I don't honeslty recall ever reading anything bad about Cyberpower before and they seem to get relatively decent reviews in the magazines (nothing to set the world on fire though)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Quick update. So complained on Monday 10th. PC picked up on Wednesday and they phoned up on Friday to say it's fine and will be shipped Monday

Shame about that £45 extra I originally paid for a "5 day rush service"
Superscaper, I agree about Cyberpower never revcieving any bad press, reviews etc.. That's one reason I opted for them
