It's only in the UK where we stick to one shop, living in North London you can pretty much get all you need without the unpleasant experience of supermarket shopping.

Supermarkets being cheaper is a myth.

If the OP knew that, perhaps she'd be able to work on it. Perhaps it's not intentional, but your post doesn't come across in a very positive light. I've had one panic attack in my life, in a situation where I'd never have thought I'd have one, and it was extremely frightening, so the OP has all my sympathy.
Having spent a good part of my late teens and 20s in pubs:rolleyes: I now get extremely anxious in them, for no obvious reason. Sometimes these things just happen to people

I like popping to Lidl often for fruit and veg offers - they alwayshave at least four on half price and the quality is great. I go and have a look around Aldi every few weeks or so. I like the specials they do and am working my way thrugh trying washing powders to try and find one that works like Fairy as that is too expensive these days! I like a look at Netto too every so often - always buy the CVit blackcurrant from there as they always have 100% extra free and my kids like it and tesco it is double the price.

I trade off where I shop and only buy things I would want anyway and then in those supermarkets that take them, I use coupons - so I shop according to what coupons I have (not the product - just the fact I have them!) so that I can keep control of my spending. I do notice the quality in Lidl and Aldi stuff as being better than value and basics brands in the majors generally.

  • we have an aldi right near us in fact live on a small estate thats new build and has not doctors or shops nearest ones are 2miles away - well we have a pharmacy now. but we do have aldi and a couple of pubs (what more could we want). so we do a fair bit of shopping in aldi.

we shop wherever really i tend to go to whatever supermarket i am near and stock up on any of the deals and reduced item. our freezer is full of co-op reduced items that were on deals - got to eat some of it now!!
