If you've got an old 3g phone hanging around, go to a Vodafone shop, they've got much better deals! You can get 6 months halfprice line rental (without cashback!) and you can hand in your old phone for £100. To top it off, you can reduce the tariff after 6 months to the minimum if you like, which you can't do with the CPW deal.

I beleive the cpw deal includes 6m half price from voda direct in the 9m

OSPS have the same deal with 13m half price or 15m with the v3x and do allow tariff downgrades (or certainly used to - the current t&C are a bit ambiguos although a sales operator assured me d/g is still allowed)

However it is true that voda shops do the 40 quid 500 min 3g tariff wheras the others do the 50 quid standard one. However with downgrade the min 18m cost from voda shops would be 312 with 100 quid trade in cf 342 with 175 cb from osps (or 225 for the v3x) plus an extra 20 quid from quidco
