Sunday 9/11/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Tody I will: check online banking
update spreadsheets
storecupboard meals
make a loaf in breadmaker
put the bills i shredded last night onto compost
list some books on amazon
go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership - not been since Tuesday:o
start sorting out wardrobe and send some stuff to charity shop
dig up the last of leeks and carrots from garden and cook for freezer

Hi Guys, hope you are all having a good weekend:D , lots to do today so need to get started.
catch up with you all later:D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • Morning sophies mum and co, im the first reply today!!

Im at work, had a nightmare driving, all the roads are blocked off in Westminster and no parking coz of Remembrance Day. So everyone spent ages persuading a local car park we can use theirs for free today! But I will pop down later and get my poppy.

Im shattered as well didn’t sleep well so will make a cup of tea in a bit, caffeine rather than buy a coke! Only other thing to buy is a small loaf of bread for the week at work for breakfast.

Yesterday spent another 3.00 on kfc that wasn’t even nice! Feel guilty about that so try not to buy much today. Not doing too well with my plan so far! Only 2 days in!!

Managed to get big sisters xmas pressie from asda online for half price! Jamie Oliver DS game only 17.71 and free delivery! How good was that!!

Well hugs and smiles today to everyone. No sparkly socks coz im in my boring uniform all black and white today…no posting tonight as will be going strait to bed and watching strictly. But will read along today at work…..

  • Hi everyone, I had a productive DFW evening last night. I will include it in todays listing because I stayed up into early hours.
    I have
    - got halfway through designing a product for a client, hopefully finish it tonight
    - brought in new breadmaker from car, my mum got me it for £2 at car boot, just need to get some yeast and stuff and can start making my own loaves.
    - delivered some products to clients last night
    - ironed some clothes, a rare event but means DS will wear them more so I get better value for money

    Today I will
    - continue to design the product
-contact said client regarding the product
    - unsure what I am doing today but wont involve a lot of money simply becasue I dont have any
    - make something for dinner using store cupboard
    - repair DS blanket, needs some stitching
    - not put heating on until 6 (if needed)
    - sort some laundry, do a load on 30

  • I stayed up to watch the Calzaghe fight and I'm too tired to even spend money!

Will pop out for the paper, and instead of going to the football today, I'm watching it on Setanta thereby saving about £50.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Morning everyone!

I felt too guilty to post yesterday - instead of staying in with OH on Friday, me and an old friend went out, last minute arrangement!:o Felt so guilty for spending money on drinks etc but (1) I had a great night with her and hadn't seen her in about 7 months (2) I used money I was putting away for getting my hair done at xmas - I can replace this by doing an extra shift at my old job!

    Yesterday was a good day:
    • I chose my wedding dress:j
    • Went shopping with mum and bridesmaids for their dresses - just ideas at this stage
    • Sister bought me lunch
    • Went to mums for a wedding meeting get together with all key people - had a lovely time, food and drinks were free and got a lift home
    • NSD!
    Today I will:
    • Have another NSD
    • Washing at 30
    • Dry on airer
    • Storecupboard lunch and tea
    • Bit of housework
    • DVD afternoon on sofa with OH
    • Check online banking
    • Get work stuff ready for tomorrow
    Have a lovely day xxx
