new boiler quote

sorry if there are a lot of these on here but thought i should share it with as many people as possible.
BG quote for replacing conventional boiler with new conventional high efficiency worcester greenstar 18ri and upgrade to control system+ filter+flush. £4189.04 - allowances £3789.04
Two other local corgi men as near like for like but with a viessman boiler were between £2250-2500.
Some of the bits i remember that set the alarm bells clanging," if we have to install an earth cable its £300, i can give you the number of your local electricity company they only charge £60??" "if you sign up today your 6 thermostatic rad valves are free, they normally cost £40each" (they are about £14 in b and q.)
Am i missing something or are they a little on the high side with the quote!!!!!!!!!

Good morning: BG:rotfl: typical quote...go with one of the independents and a better boiler i.e. Viessmann . Ensure the installation is to manufacturer's specifications. If the RGI has had Viessmann training he/she can offer a 5 year parts and labour warranty (requires an annual service to remain valid

I had a quote from BG and it was £5,400! This was to remove old boiler and tanks and replace with condensing combi for 16 rads. I got two other quotes; came in at £2,400 and just under £3,000. We decided to go with the £3,00, as the other seemed a bit too cheap. Had it fitted last Jan and doing great, although i haven't see us using any less gas!

narrowed it down to two quotes but would you pay two hundred pounds more for a viessmann or settle for a vaillant, any pointers?? Im thinking the viessmann.
