Why don't you try painting them or getting new door handles or something instead of new doors? It will certainly be a lot cheaperand you can do it yourself.0

100 per door is very expensive and 25 quid is a really good price.
i reckon around here to pay about 40 quidish per new door, for fitting.Get some gorm.0 -
Well Dealmad, I certainly would not work in your, or any other house without my shoes. Apart from being dangerous, it is extremely uncomfortable. I speak as one who never normally wears shoes indoors. I have garden shoes in the back porch and change every time I go in and out. That is the reason that I always buy slip on shoes. If I have to work indoors then I make an exception and put on outdoor shoes. It is very awkward trying to do anything in slippers, for one thing they keep falling off.
No new door that you buy is going to fit without being trimmed in some way. Especially if you have to make allowances for new carpet. A mess is inevitable, but that is what vacuum cleaners are for.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Would you PM me his details if he's anywhere near the south east of the county (Gatwick/Reigate/Caterham area).0 -
I had a new fire door hung, and new handles fitted to all doors 7 in total - £90 and that included fittings for new doors - I already had handles. A fiver each from Lidl and even the fitter remarked how nice they were!!
Similar handles in B&Q cost £30 each!!
We are on the South coast HTH0 -
the cheapest doors are white 6 panel doors I paid yesterday Trade price £11.00 each from Howdens joinery, they stock similar stuff to MFI

I charged £65 to fit it LOL0 -
If you go into Wickes you can buy press panelled doors for about £25 each, I can get them for £15 each from Howdens.
Price of handles depends on what you go for, anything from £5-£50, hinges are about £1 pair, latches £1 each.
Fitting costs vary, but I charge around £30-£35 per door, and can fit 8 easily in a day.0 -

Our doors are 78" x 30"", and on the B&Q website these are exactly the same size @ £40 a door for glazed.
Now, im no expert, but im sure i can take a door off, take the hinges off the old door, measure the distance from the ends, and chip the hinges out.
Then drill the door catch out, and chisel it in.
There is a very good video guide on video jug.
I would try one door, and see how you get on..
Yeah piece of p1ss aint it...:rolleyes:0 -
Howdens were doing white 6 panel doors for £5 each last week up here in N. Wales.
