or get a travel money card from the post office and pre-load money on to it. It's a visa electron so ideal for avoiding fees from ryanair etc

People have reported problems using this with Ryanair. They are being charged as if they were using a Visa debit.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I have an ordinary current account with a chequebook and Visa debit card/cheque guarantee card from Co-op Bank. Read somewhere that they would issue an electron card as well as the usual visa debit card so I rang and asked for one. No problem - it arrived in 2 days. Used it today on Easyjet - no card fee charged. Result!0

I applied for one of these at the post office today and when I told her what I wanted to use it for she said she didn't think you could use it on internet purchases (i.e. Ryanair flight). She couldn't find it on the small print so rang up to find out and was told you could not use it online.0
