My mum has a electron card with Halifax, and I would say that its not worth the hassle they give you. Can't use in in branch, and constant pressure to upgrade to a normal current account.0 -
On the other hand, the Co-op bank does not pressurise you at all.
You can pay in at Post Offices: cash credits instantly.
Great card for booking BMI Baby flights.RIP independent MSE.

You can't do transactions in branch etc.. say my mum wants to transfer some money to my account (also halifax), she cannot go into the branch with her electron card and do it, she has to do it via a cheque, same when she pays her mortgage (doesnt have a DD set up) (also with halifax), they won't take the money from the card, she writes them a cheque....0

Most smaller branches will let you use your card in branch if you ask nicely. The alternative is to also have a 'normal' account with them, and just transfer money to the Electron card when it is needed (you can do this in any branch).Gone ... or have I?0 -
or get a travel money card from the post office and pre-load money on to it. It's a visa electron so ideal for avoiding fees from ryanair etc

Because its not an Easycash account... Its a very old account, and some of the draw backs to the Easycash are more recent.0
