Just shifted last of mine by BACS as interest rate now dropped, one thing, hope its not here we go again have a long wait as everybody is doing it and they get a flippin backlog !!
  • Well I have just tried to get my money out of Kaupthing, never made a withdrawal before and seem to be having a few problems. I have filled in the amount I want to take out (all of it) then clicked 'make payment' at the bottom, nothing happened so I tried again and a box appeared saying 'confirm amount' or something, I clicked OK to that and still nothing seems to have happened, is it me or them?

Same happened to me. Will see if appears on Monday to see it may be due to non-processing on non banking days at weekend.

Going by Ing's past reputation if I still had any money in there I would move it fast. They are the masters of dropping savings rates by more than boe decreases and raising them(if at all) less than any boe increases.

Mass exodus from ING /KE trouble is until theve all dropped, where do you put it? I had the same trouble with the website, i had to phone.
Put it into IF Isave at 5.9% , but that will almost certainly drop.
  • KE seem to have dropped the rates further, to 4.46%!

    I've jumped ship myself.

opened an account with Capital One savings as they're currently offering the best rate on the market at the moment... for how long of course, I don't know.

in any case, they do force you to dump £500 minimum in by Direct Debit but as the DD comes out about 1 week after you've applied, it's ample time to move your savings.

I'll watch the 500 go in, and if all is well, then the rest can go in too.
  • I actioned the transfer of my considerable deposit with KE this morning.

Did anyone manage to open a fixed rate deposit account on the same day that the base rate dropped to 3%?
