Try Barclaycard Initial. They accepted after Capital One and Vanquis declined for me (despite me having cards with both in the past... :S)0

Get a copy of your full report in the mail from Experian & Equifax (£2 each).
Being on the electoral roll makes a big difference in credit checks. The Aqua Call Centre workers probably don't have a clue how the credit scoring works.
Like others have said, your best bet is your own bank or the places offering cards to those with low scores.0 -
I've just found out I have a credit score of 806, or 'fair'. I'm not on the electoral roll, so I'll do that for starters. I have a couple of 0% CCs that haven't got a balance on them. I was keeping them in case of 'emergency' 0% loans, and I have my Nationwide CC for travel.
Should I be worried about the amount of CCs I have (3) in regards to my credit score or does it not really matter? It's only because I'm looking to get a mortgage in the next couple of years and obviously want the best rate possible.2016 diet challenge 16lbs/42lbs lost

Your score seems good
Providing you maintain all account correctly this should actually have a good impact as it shows that you are mainting credit and are a responsible lender. The only downside is if you have too much avalible credit i.e have £50,000 availble on cc's but earn £10,000 per annum Bank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500

Hi Innocent Guy,
My credit raiting is not brilliant and I applied for a Flybe card, it comes in various bands, a, b & c, C being the highest intrest one, the card I got is 29% APR and they gave me a 2k limit, which I'll never use, I also got a Vanquis card with a shocking 59% APR with a £250 limit. I aim to use them to build up my credit record with lovely green 0's, but I shall pay them off each month so as not to incur interest. I got these from reading the sub prime credit card thread.
