Utility Warehouse Broadcall Unsatisfied Customer

Hi,
I recently moved into a new place and decided to go with the Utility Warehouse for Gas/Electricity (which is fine). The problem is their so-called Broadband connection. What is supposed to be an 8mb download speed is under 56k and has been for best part of a week, even though their trouble line claims the service is normal. I have tried restricting mac addresses for the wireless connection, disabling wireless and going via ethernet and its just the same. Do I have any rights as a dissatisfied customer to cancel the service without having to pay a cancellation cost - it is, afterall, they who are not fulfilling their obligation.

Have you tried contacting BT to see what the junction box that connects to your house is capable of? When we signed up we wanted the fastest service they could provide, but the actual BT line was only 1MB, so we could only take that service. It's a little-known thing that AOL are guilty of too, charging customers for a service they can't actually provide.Sealed Pot Challenge number 298, up yours HSBC!0

Why should the OP contact BT? They should contact the BB supplier. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20

Also depends if it is ADSL1 or ADSL2 enabled, According to BT I can only get 6 meg but I get 17.2 from Easynet so BTWholesale isn't the most reliable.
Also depends on if its provided via an LLU or BTW
Don't Utility Warehouse go via Tiscalis whitelabel product?0
