**Pleae help , Is it safe to order from HONG KONG????**

Bought from HK twice, only thing to note is that since the second purchase I have had a marked increase in the amount of spam received. Could be a coincidence, but most is trying to sell me electrical goods but sent by seemingly hacked hotmail accounts.0

But i was wondering why the postage is so cheap???
Is it still ok??? I mean it does come from Hong Kong , how can it be that cheap and still guaranteed to arrive???
Thanks
I've bought from that seller in the past and had no problems at all - took about 10 days or so to arrive. To be fair though, given the total cost of their typical item including postage, being scammed is not high on my risk list!
No seller gets to 88,000+ feedback by upsetting or scamming rafts of buyers - they have a fair few negs, but they are mainly for non-receipt and cheap quality. Most of their items are cheap but desireable, therefore likely to be cheaply made, or nicked from the postal system/sold to chavs who just claim INR on most purchases.
Last year I was lucky enough to get a works jolly out to the far east on a job swap, and saw a load of factories and wholesale outlets. Despite being 99p, these type of accessories are still sold on a 1000% mark up! Likewise, the postage out of HK is a lot cheaper than the postage into HK. I bought and sent a postcard from there for around 6p, and sent home a 3kg box of goodies that cost me £16 to post. To send the same package from Uk to HK would be around £75 with Parcelforce!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I've bought a few things from hong kong, and never had any problems at all... always got exactly what i ordered, with timely delivery. Key is to check feedback thoroughly before bidding, which you should do for any seller in any case.
I learnt the hard way from nbot checking feedback just once, and that was with a UK seller... he had a high feedback score, but percentage was in the early 90% mark... after I had major problems and actually looked properly at the feedback, I realised that just 5% negative feedback on a feedback running into hundreds of transactions is actually a LOT of dissattisfied customers... and all the feedback was the same - seller saying things were in good condition and working, when in fact they were rubbish.
So beware, READ feedback properly before buying from anyone on ebay, and there is no more reason why you will have problems from a seller in hong kong than you will from a seller 10 miles from your house.
Pretty much all consumer items come from hong kong or the far east - we make nothing anymore in the UK, so as long as you are careful, all you are effectively doing is cutting out a middleman or two and saving yourself money
In the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate

I have purchased various different items on ebay from HK, ranging from computer accessories to a bento, without any problems.
Postage has always been reasonable and turnaround to the UK has been 1-2 weeks, did have one item a while back that took only 3 days!
