I agree a fantastic phone at a bargain price, the 512MB mini-SD card is probably worth nearly £40 on its own, also comes with a earbud based wired handsfree kit.

Unlocked and with the right software (The Core Pocket Media Player) installed the excellent screen is perfect (IMHO) for watching Divx encoded movies on the train. This week I've been catching up with episodes of Lost I've transferred across from my DVD recorder and re-encoded.

Also works okay as a phone.

Hi, I've got this phone and have to agree it is great, don't think I'm using it to its full though! Can you please tell me how you get it unlocked and does it affect your contract in anyway, also does unlocking mess up the settings etc. Thanks for your help :xmassmile

This seems like a good deal to me. You can also buy a bluetooth GPS dongle, install TomTom Mobile and have Sat Nav on it too !!!!

look to the modaco or spv-developers forums for info on unlocking (there are a few ways to go about it, but they're all free!!!)....its really simple, all you need is an orange sim to actually be able to boot up the phone, and it won't muck up any settings at all.

the c550's a good phone, not great though...and the similarish c600 has just been released with windows mobile 5.0 (although it lack the WiFi found on OEM HTC Faraday models)
